Yes, a win tonight would have been huge. Monumental even. But ultimately, this game won't have a major impact on our season.

The recruits saw what they needed to see. And a bowl game is still within sight. This team really grew up tonight, and a coach like CBJ is going to make sure the players know that. He will not let them get down on themselves. Every game left on our schedule is winnable. Even Bama--especially if the team plays the way they did tonight.

The breaks that we need are coming when they really matter. When we're in the hunt for the SEC East. When we're in the SEC Championship game. When we're in the National Championship game.

And those games are coming sooner than you think.

Guys, this program is in great hands. I used to get sick over losses during the Dooley regime, because it felt like it was a fluke that we were in those games to begin with. And...who knows when it would happen again?

Not so with Butch Jones. That last drive to take the lead showed me everything I needed to know. Let's sit back and enjoy the rest of the season and get ready for one of the best coaches in America to bring us back to the top.

...and what's that? Tennessee almost winning another big game? Different recruiting classes have seen plenty of that from Tennessee over the last several years.

It was not a fluke that Dooley almost won big games. Occasionally an overmatched opponent plays well and catches breaks against a better team. You're just telling yourself that because you so desperately want to believe Butch is "the guy."

I'm not saying he's not, but I'm also saying that there's nothing "different" about Butch Jones' moral victory when compared to Dooley's.

This game doesn't really matter? In what world?

Not like this, they haven't! This was a perfect selling point for TN. 100,000+ rocking the stadium, cheering like he** and Butch can point to the scoreboard and say "With you, that score is different. You're what we need to make that change! Listen to those fans! They'll be cheering for YOU when you help us make that difference!"

Shiz.... I'll be moderately surprised if none of the recruits that were here tonight don't commit soon!!

This game doesn't really matter? In what world?

In a world where we don't have much chance to make the SEC Championship?

Look, if we were ranked #10 and undefeated in SEC play, and this game could have decided who was going to win the East, this loss would be devastating.

But to me, all it showed is that Butch Jones is a hell of a coach and our players are buying in completely.

We're 0-19 against ranked opponents, let's not let 0-20 become a reality
