6 National Championships
1 of 4 teams to win 100 games in the 1990s
Top 10 all time winningest schools
4th in all time bowl wins
2nd in all time bowl apperances
2nd in all time SEC Championships
The Winningest team in College Football since 1926.

Many of you probably know these, but it makes me happy to read about how great our team was and eventually again.

2 SEC championships (that's how many PF has)
No major bowl games in how long?

And that is without doing research...

I'm guessing we're hanging onto that "winningest program since 1926" title by the skin of our teeth, if at all anymore.

But thanks for the boost.

I'm going to print this and read it after th ND loss and possibly after the Memphis, KY, and Vandy losses. It might be the only thing to prevent me from jumping!! (Off a bridge)
PS Might want to look at stats/records since 1998.

Yes, that was one of the few good things Zook did for the GatorNation..slapped some humbling reality to some Gator fans..but with it comes changes.

Exactly. We'll be back on top of things. I'm not saying that everything is fine because it's not. There are some changes that need to be made....period. BUT, we have endured tough seasons before and that's all this is. It's tough... :ermm:

Cotton bowl is decent but it's not what it used to be.

If we're talking about a "BCS" bowl, then you guys are sellouts. :p

The Cotton Bowl has some great tradition, and that can never be taken away. That is a major bowl win. Period.

Well yeah, I'm talking since the BCS, the Cotton isn't what it used to be. It's a shame really because I agree with the great tradition of it. It should be added to the BCS bowls if you ask me.

The NCAA sold out on this BCS bull. Too bad too... without it, I think the bowl system could have worked out at least an 8 team playoff to go with the bowls. With the BCS, too much money is involved.

we dont have 6 national championships

Yeah, actually we do.

There are several once-important national polls which don't exist- somel of which were more respectable in their time than the AP or Coaches polls are now. In fact, the AP used to be considered kind've a kiddie-poll. TN has NCs in at least one major poll for 6 years.

Consensus NCs were once very rare, and, as result, you'll find that if you go back in history there are more CF NCs than there are years of CF.

To make things even weirder, the polls used to come out before bowls, so alot of so-called NCs actually lost their final game....

Kind of like refusing to spell accept can turn you into a mediocre speller? Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm tired, angry and still cold from the game.

It WAS really cold tonight, wasn't it? I guess if LIO doesn't correct these folks, someone has to.

On the NC thing. We have 6 in the same way 'bama has "12".

Football at this level is a "what have you done for me lately" business and it should be. There are not too many jobs that will pay 2 million dollars to be ranked in the last quarter of your peers.

Fulmer is stubborn but I am not one of those who thinks he is so stupid that he will cut his nose off to spite his face. Hopefully he will consult with those he trusts and respects to help him decide on what changes to make.

Which means... ??? Almost wholesale changes in the offensive coaching staff? Or just Randy?

I said a similar thing earlier, if it comes down to me or you... I'm going to let "you" take the fall every time. Either way, even if the fire Fulmer guys got their way, Sanders would be gone.

I am more than willing to give Fulmer a chance to right the ship this offseason but to do that he is going to have to fire some of his friends and he is also going to have to give the new guys much more freedom than he gives Sanders.

I have said many times that my main beef with Fulmer is that he is too loyal to his assistants who are not held accountable for results on the field. There is no sense of urgency with the staff.

Fulmer is not bigger than the program or my alma mater and he needs to sack it up and make serious changes to right the ship. It is not too much to ask for him to at least be in the top 10% of all teams 3 out of every 4 years when he is in the top 10% for pay and our program is in the top 10% for money spent to support the effort.

I'll agree with that.
