in full force today. It looks like Brooks may wriggle his way out of this one. And I see people on other sites talking up how folks jumped to conclusions about Brooks and he is just the nicest guy....so on and so forth.

What is it going to take before someone realizes that Brooks is an accident waiting to happen. This is the 3rd time he has been involved in an altercation. I guess these things just keep happening to him.........he is just unlucky I guess.

I guess we will just have to wait and see. None of us were there so we don't know the details of what happened.

. . . . just hate to see such distractions when you're posed to make a real run at a few spectacular seasons. You know, the whole "one bad apple" thing?

No, we weren't there, but when it's been THREE times, and not one "hearsay" episode, you've got to be realistic about the young man's character. If he really was involved in the alleged "altercations," he's got to take responsibility. On any team, there are leaders, team players, and distractors. He falls into the latter at this point.

Sometimes it only takes one fight to establish a reputation. After that it's like the Old West where everyone was looking to take down the fastest gun.

I don't know the details, but I think it's wise to wait on them. It could be that the young man was provoked. It could be that he committed assault.

If he was provoked then it makes a big difference. Sure, it would have been good if he walked away. I never did though. I bet most on here didn't either.

if we can play linebacker as good as he gets into fights he would win the freakin heisman

Well, that is a good point. Do we really want a LB that is afraid to hit somebody? :dunno:

IMO, other than the QB's, Omar was the surprise of the season.

it also looks like Ell Ash is going to be leaving the football team. Ash had been struggling to get into the defensive rotation so there was some talk of him moving to offense. I don't think Ash was too happy about that move.

It does appear that Brooks was trying to be the piece maker in this one and he has witnesses to that effect.

Lets not forget the turn-around that Riggs has made, these kids are growing up before our eyes. Sometimes you have to put yourself in the shoes of a parent, what if Brooks was your son? I honestly would trust Phil to do what was best for all involved.

Its a good thing we have Fulmer at the helm, he knows to get all the facts before passing judgement, he has my trust in these matters.

I wish we had redshirted Omar in 2002. There was no point in playing him, but I guess the way the injuries piled up we had no choice. Would love to ahve him for next year. I feel like we may miss the best of Omar Gaither.

From what I hear Omar is a great team leader as well. Just an all-around great guy to have on the team. I love to watch him tackle, it looks like he is going high then he shoots the legs out from the ball carrier.

Sounds to me that this Frat has some serious explaining to do. They have been in 3 incidents with football players in the past couple of years. And the word is that they started each incident. The University needs to look hard at whether this Frat should even still exist at the University.

And if your man enough to take on a football player in the first place.... don't wuss out and complain when you get your :censored: beat.

You should know by now that no UT football player will ever get blamed for anything. It seems they are above the law and that they are the ones ALWAYS provoked...man please...Im afraid to say it...but eventually there are going to be frat parties were football players arent allowed. I wouldnt have a problem with that. LOL@ Brooks trying to break it up! The only thing he was trying to break was someones face and succeeded. Brooks might be a good guy, but when alcohol gets in his system he appears to be an angry person. I have nothing against Brooks the ballplayer, but Brooks the person needs a karate chop to the throat...Someone needs to chin check him a couple times.

Wuss out? I dont think anyone wussed out...but when guys have to surround you and attack you in bunches says something about their character. If you have a problem with someone you handle it yourself and not with 2 or 3 other guys. I think Fulmer should put Bo and Daniel in the Bull in the ring drill without pads and see how they like it.

Omega Psi Phi shouldnt be on campus? Err...Since the football players keep fighting with them and it takes 2 parties to fight...maybe there shouldnt be a football program...right? I guess since one makes millions for the university that they get a little preferential treatment.

What about Brooks' fight with the sigmas? Another 5`8 150lbs frat guy! LOL...Come on now...For anyone to take the blame off of Brooks is ludicrous..His arrogance smells as he strafes through the club with his UT varsity jacket with no letter on it. :dlol: The guy needs to be shown the door. I saw both incidents first hand and I dont know if anyone made mention of this, but Brooks got into it with a member of the Secondary who was trying to pipe him down...Not saying any names, but he almost took the rage out on a teammate.

:bs: You know that's not true. I am not going to name everyone who has been kicked off or suspended from the team because of it's negativity, but there have been many who have been punished.

I never said that Brooks was not blameless.

What I did say is that the frat-boys should be held accountable for their actions.

There were fights when I was in school at UT. However, nobody ran and 'cried' to the campus police after it was over. That is what I meant by 'wuss'.
