But I'll be honest, I don't feel any better. Reality hit me before my feet hit the floor. Again, we are not going to a bowl game because we were not prepared. There is no mulligan and no hope for the season. Here we sit again, different season, same result.

There is no one that can reasonably say that we shouldn't have beat that team last night. Vandy was Vandy again. They played a horrible game including two turnovers in the red zone. We were favored to win, no? At home? MORE talent (since this is the biggest excuse most use to make them feel better) than the scrubs from West End. And, did we not have an extra week to prepare?

Will more talent help? Yes, but don't act like our recruiting has been in the 50's rankings. Mizzou laughs at recruiting rankings, where are they with a good coach.

Other games we weren't expected to win, this loss in squarely on Butch. Only the most important game of the year and everyone knew it going into it. Yes, still stings this morning.

To be fair to this point at least, Mizzou has a LOT more talent in key positions. Franklin and Mauk are both great QB's, and they basically have a team full of Justin Hunters (2011 Justin Hunter, that is) at their receiving corp.

The in game decision making is terrible. Who fakes a field goal in that position. Talent don't solve his deficiencies.

When I step back and look at it I think the 2 early interceptions and the North injury made them go conservative. The fake field goal didn't really affect anything. They might could have gone for it just past midfield knowing that if Vandy drove the field we wouldn't have time to respond but if you don't make it they get the ball at midfield. They lined up to start the game in the I formation and couldn't run it. I am not sure what's Butch's fault. The team was ready to play. The game didn't go great for us other than fumbles but we were still in it. The problem is we might accept it if it were LSU or Bama but it's hard to swallow from Vandy.

Move on. If your attitude today is shaped by something you can't control, then do yourself a favor and take a break from sports for a while.
