ASU wins 35-31. Wasnt the slaughter that should have happened...but after being down 31-6 at halftime...I'll take it. I swear Memphis used every trick play in the book to get that lead outside of a bogus fumble call returned for a TD the CUSA refs gave them.

Congrats, but...... You oughta read the first couple of pages in the Tennessee's Two Victories thread. We were expecting y'all to blow the doors off the Tigers, not have to come from behind in the fourth quarter. Y'all realize of course you just added more fuel to the Fire Fulmer movement.. Just kidding. Great show of exhibiting the "never quit" attitude we all want our teams to display!!!! :clapping:

Yeah Memphis was obviously reeling and desperate for a win. We were totally flat in the first half...I think we expected to have a cakewalk or somthing until Memphis hit a 53 yard pass first play from scrimmage. After a butt chewing at halftime the defense revved it up. Unfortunately we lost our rb(Reggie Arnold) for the season tonight.

Man, I hate to hear that for Reggie and y'alls team. Hope everything works out good for him!!

Well the injury may not be as bad as previously thought..he's in a boot and on crutches but is able to put weight on the foot so probably just a precaution...hopefully.

I wouldn't put too much into this win.

Memphis has won ONE Division 1 game in the last two years.

The Tuesday night game on ESPN with Memphis vs Marshall will be a laughfest. A combined record of 1-7 (no wins vs D-1) between the two. :birgits_giggle:

HEY!@!

If your mama walked out of the bathroom with 30 yards of toilet paper stuck to her shoe, I wouldn't post about it.

Well as I noted earlier, it doesnt matter if Memphis is 10-0 and ASU is 0-10 or vice-versa, its gonna be a war regardless. Generally always have been close games with them outside of a few lean years with ASU or Memphis. Strangely our biggest margins of victory against them was when we were still 1-AA.

Sorry, the blue glasses here in Memphis just make me lash out sometimes. I actually pull for Memphis in football when they are not playing Tennessee.

At this point, the ASU football program is in better shape than Memphis' and I am not sure many people can argue that. You guys have it going in the right direction. :good!:

You can't do anything but shake your head at Memphis. At least there is basketball in a month.

I feel like I am watching a JV game on ESPN2 right now, especially in the first half.

I live in the Memphis area, even went to law school at U.M. I used to try to pull for the Tigers. But a substantial portion of their fan base positively hates Tennessee and would never pull for the Vols. I think it is some sort of inferiority complex- rooted in jealousy. The final straw for me was when a former boss of mine, who played basketball for U.M., told me he hated Tennessee so much he would be happy if the team plane crashed.

Call me bitter, but I've been cheering for whoever plays the Tigers ever since then.

And Memphis gets to "Shake 'Dem Haters Off" for 4 more years. How comical.

Just makes me that much happier I am already in Fayette County.

Yeah 4 more years of Shake Dem Haters off. Unreal but I am shocked the voter turn out was low.I Hope they have alot of land in Fayette cause alot folks are talking about moving out of Memphis to there and down here in Desoto Co. Memphis you should be happy about your new Shake the haters off Mayor. You get what you put into office. Have fun!!!

i grew up in the seats at Liberty Bowl watched every home game and tailgated with family for the first 15 years of my life. Tigers fans despise anything, much less Tennessee Football, east of the Shelby County line. The most arrogant people I have ever met are, unfortunately in my home state, in east memphis.

The degree of blue glasses has multiplied ten fold since DWill was here. They have won 2 Division-1 games since he left campus and it took until this past Arkansas State game for some of them to see how crappy the program actually is right now. They really have nothing to be hopeful for either.....other than maybe Duke Calhoun.
