The Associated Press: Idaho first to sign law aimed at health care plan

Last week, Virginia legislators passed a measure similar to Idaho's new law, but Otter was the first state chief executive to sign such a bill, according to the American Legislative Exchange Council, which created model legislation for Idaho and other states. The Washington, D.C.,-based nonprofit group promotes limited government.
"Congress is planning to force an unconstitutional mandate on the states," said Herrera, the group's health task force director.
Otter already warned U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in December that Idaho was considering litigation. He signed the bill during his first public ceremony of the 2010 Legislature.

Wow, this is an old fashioned pissing contest.

Most people have no idea what the Bonnie Blue is. So you will probably not offend anyone. Put up the Stars and Bars and they might raise some hell.

If recent history holds true, as in Kosovo, then should violence break out NATO would come to the defense of the sessessionist states, right??

I would be all for a revolution, sorry to say, not going to happen anytime soon and unless we have a true leader that cuts the Govt. Budgets and turns the ship a new direction soon we wont have to worry about a revolution China will provide one for us.

Igor Panarin?
I have never read him, but I had seen the map describing his prediction... I just don't believe that it would go down like that... maybe mexico slices off the bottom of CA and/or parts of the southwest... canada's not self-motivated enough to take anything...

I think America would still come together and be stronger that ever if an outside force threatened the continental US.... we are fat and lazy and govt educated, but we are still America!

here's his prediction...

Igor Panarin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the summer of 1998,[34] based on classified data about the state of the U.S. economy and society[35] supplied to him by fellow FAPSI analysts,[5] Panarin forecast the probable disintegration of the USA into six parts in 2010 (at the end of June – start of July 2010, as he specified on 10 December 2008),[36] following a civil war triggered by mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation. He forecast financial and demographic changes provoking a political crisis in which wealthier states will withhold funds from the federal government, effectively seceding from the Union, leading to social unrest, civil war, national division, and intervention of foreign powers.[5] Panarin sees the task of the world elite as not letting the USA follow the Yugoslavian model of disintegration; it is desirable that it follows the Czechoslovakian model of disintegration so that everything goes calmly and peacefully.[37]

As bad as it is, I dont think it will come to this. Too many people are fed up with the government, on both sides, but still love this country(like me). I will never let a foreign horde come into this country without taking some of the bastages with me.

imo, the problem is that there is no accountability in DC... sure the tea parties/talk radio have stirred it up a few times with good results (immigration, health care to an extent), but the political machine in DC has become so huge that there doesn't seem to be any stopping it...

quality Americans who might have run for office 20 or 30 years ago would have to think twice about subjecting themselves and their families to the meat grinder that is now DC....

where will true reform/change to DC come from?

I was mocking the guy more than anything. Don't worry, we won't be co-owned by Canada and Mexico.

Igor Panarin is about as ex-KGB as Vladimir Putin and is just indulging in wishful thinking. He thinks Alaska will revert to Russina control, rots of ruck, maybe that's why the commies at the NY Slimes hate Sarah so much.

Anyway his map is about as stupid as a box of rocks, more so really.

You have to admit though, they and their fellow travelers did a good job of putting a socialist in the White House.

A glimpse into the old USSR from one who lived through it.

God-based religion was suppressed and replaced with cultlike adoration for political figures.

Only the ruling class of communist leaders had access to special stores, medicine and accommodations that could compare to those in the West.

The rest of the citizenry had to deal with permanent shortages of food and other necessities, and had access to free but inferior, unsanitary and low-tech medical care.

(Today in America) Policies such as nationalized medicine, high tax rates and government intrusion into free enterprise are being sold to us under the socialistic motto of collective salvation.

Socialism has bankrupted and failed every society, while capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system.

Now in 2009, I realize how unfortunate it is that many Americans do not understand how fortunate they are.

They vote to give government more and more power without understanding the consequences.

I think we may have to make a decision here in the next few years:
Continue to let our beloved country got to hell, split the country apart or have a full revolution and over throw the gov't.
