At least Purdue didn't "beat our eyes shut." Those are the most frustrating kind of losses though. Why does Wayne not drive the lane there? By the way, bonus to everyone who remembers who said the above comment.

We got beat by a pretty good basketball team tonight. It is frustating for sure. This game would have really helped come March. I would have liked to have seen a timeout there at the end to get the ball in Tyler's hands. No need for a three.

But it is a long year. We have a talented team. We are going to have some big wins. Give Purdue credit. They really stepped their defense up in the second half. We just couldn't get anything going in the second half on offense.

Bruce has never called TOs in that situation. He doesn't like to.

Pearl never calls those timeouts and he probably won't either. I'm guessing you've got momentum going into those last seconds with a chance to actually win the game. I am a firm believer in calling the time out though and getting a play to Tyler or Chism down low but they pay him millions to make that decision. I hate games like this. We could have ran away with this one several times tonight and I will not understand why Pearl didn't push the tempo in the 2nd half like the first. The lack of intensity shows.

Tennessee has a bunch of guys who are quick and can jump. Purdue has a bunch of skilled basketball players. Skilled basketball players win basketball games.

I figured last year's loss to Gonzaga in a preseason tournament would motivate them, especially since they got a second chance against them in Knoxville, but they lost that one too.
