Thoughts? Could this defense hang with SEC Elite with the right coaching?

If this secondary is back next year....we are in deeper sheet than we were this year. Need some speed back there. As well, some real coaching.

Parts of the defense, yes. Other parts...no. Gotta get some speed in the secondary.

A lot of it's coaching, most of these guys were 4 star recruits. Wilcox had 'em in the top 30 nationally in total defense last year. Maybe they're not that great, but with the right coach they won't be that bad either.

Need speed at linebacker and corner. Lanier comes back, which is big. Safety should be strong with Randolf coming back. UT basically had all 240 pd middle LBs and couldn't cover anyone. Too slow.

I think there was a huge focus on building bulk that they forgot about speed. The speed issue is a strength and conditioning coach issue. These guys had speed leaving high school but loss a step gaining bulk. Don't be surprise if there is a change in strength coaching also. That is where the speed issue lies

I didn't know Lanier came back thats is huge. But we need a lot more speed. We are recruiting safeties to play corner

I heard all of them are coming back on the post game show after the UT Kentucky game. didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Don't know if it's good or not. We've got to get some coaching in here

They better start doing more deadlifts and hamstring curls in a desperate attempt to develop some speed.
