OK i just saw this oh well..

t has been a long process for Keith Wells. First he committed to the Florida State Seminoles in August, but then after the decision he decided to re-open his recruitment and look around. After taking official visits to Ohio State, Auburn, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, Wells finally felt comfortable to make his decision known on Monday, and he decided it was going to be the Buckeyes.

This is getting laughable. Why are we having such a hard time getting people this year? I know that this was a "needs class" but It seems like we couldn't pay these guys to play for us while $aban, Richt and Meyer get whoever they want, and we won the SEC East last year.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??

I wonder who's more on with the team rankings? Rivals has the Vols at 37 while Scout has them at 44. Split the difference and call it 41?

I don't blame Fulmer for this one.

"It came down to all of them being great places, but Tennessee is not as strong academically as Ohio State and Notre Dame," Wells said. "Notre Dame is strong academically, but not as strong in football as Ohio State. My best all-around school was Ohio State."

It just depends on what he wants to get his degree in. There are a number of programs that UT comes highly regarded in ranging from Civil Engineering to Business. On the other hand, there are plenty of programs that are pretty crummy too.

what kind of gpa does this guy have? Is he really that smart to worry about academics?

I would put UT's Business program up against almost any school's, outside of Ivy League programs.

The Civil Engineering program is top of the line as well over there.

The engineering program as a whole is pretty good...

Of course I'm an alum so I'm a bit biased :)

We don't hold a candle to Notre Dame academically but OSU is not that much better than us....

I think its funny that he mentioned academics...since when do top recruits major in anything harder than basket weaving :)

Overall, USNews had us at 96 while OSU was 57 and ND was 19 out of all Public and Private Universities. So, if anything OSU really was the mid-line of the 3. As a point of reference, UF and UGA were 49 and 59, respectively. Just so you know where UT falls academically to our 2 SECE rivals.

Of course, this is a rough assessment, but a fair one to judge a schools overall academic prowess. Which is what they're there for, right?
