I just watched the two documentarys by HBO on the west memphis 3...

they are called Paradise Lost.....who has heard of them?

n e way....hear is a rundown.....

in 1993 three 8 yr old boys were brutally murdered in arkansas.....and these three teenagers were accused and convicted of the crimes..

they were framed (or so it seems from the movie) because they liked Metallica and wearing black clothes and stuff.

there is no evidence at all against them and they are still fighting today to get out of jail......this is a wild ass movie.

the supposed "ringleader" Damien Echols is creep but for some reason u want to believe him...

just check out this website and definetly watch the documentary Paradise Lost.....or read the book Devils Knot.

I saw that documentary several years ago, CC. I think it's a case of ignorance being abused. Some of the mothers were barely literate and they obviously don't have the money for a legal fight.

Echols does creep me out though.

hmmmmm......

yes and no

i mean. the filmakers paint this picture that makes these guys look so innocent and harmless, but im sure they could have done it.

just no evidence against them at all....one of them confessed but they say it was scared out of him.

u know good cop bad cop

Well......

I think if they didn't do it, they know more about it than they're letting on. Even a person with "an IQ of 72" knows the difference between right and wrong and has the capability to lie if he/she realizes they have incriminated themselves. Jessie Misskelley told the police a story ( albeit under pressure) that matched the crime scene and the injuries. Then he recanted but it was too late.

And wasn't that John Mark Byers a weirdo???

I don't know if they're guilty or not, CC. It would be very easy to pin it on them because they're poor, troubled and different, but it would also be easy to convict them because Jessie Misskelly got the story he told the cops from SOMEWHERE.

but Misskelly said it happened at noon that day.

the boys were in school at that time. the murders occured at night.

and now their is this bite mark thing. but the judge said it wasnt a bite mark or something.

all i know is,,, whoever did deserves to die and burn in hell...

if that was my kid

OH MY GOD those **** ***** ******* ****** ******* would rather be dead then let me get my hands on them.

I agree with you. BUT if Damien Echols was my son, I'd want to KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was guilty before I let them sentence him to death.

I felt so sorry for that one woman. I think it was Jason Baldwin's mom, but it's been so long since I've seen it that I don't really know. She seemed so lost and beat down. You know which one I'm talking about?
I think she had stringy blonde hair.

If they hadn't been "trash" as defined by today's society, there might have been a very different outcome to that case. People who are so poor and uneducated have no weapons with which to fight. That weirdo Byers uy has since died hasn't he?

i thought i saw that somewhere. i know his wife died and they said the cause of death was undetermined or something.

last i heard though he was in jail for saling drugs to an undercover.....

i tried to google his name but i didnt get anything about him being dead.

I was wrong, Charly. He isn't dead. Still weird, but very much alive.

Did you get the feeling during the documentary that he was ENJOYING all the attention? He didn't seem sad to me at all.

i recorded them a along time ago because i was blown away. its so easy to point the finger at someone, and then i completely changed my mind after watching both of the documentaries. the steady hands of a jeweler incisions and no mosquito bites on any of the kids make you go hmmmm. they needed someone to pin it on fast. they are some creeps, but i dont think are guilty. just my :twocents: , doesnt go far around being a bammer though :D
