Tough to get on WVU too much since they got sort of stuck when Va Tech, BC and Miami flew the coop.

The OoC schedule really isn't that bad; playing 2 BCS schools plus MArshall and a decent South Florida team.

Exactly. Their nonconference schedule matches up favorably with what most SEC teams play.

Ut's 2007 OOC:

Cal - ?? but major BCS conf. team. No "cupcake."
So. Miss. - dangerous and scrappy, and still C-USA
Arkansas State - High School. Not even highest div.
Louisianna-Lafayette - Rec. Ball.

Not exactly real tough. Given the conf. schedule, nice picks, but individually, not a tough OOC.

Yep... As long as two undefeated teams come from other BCS conferences, West Virginia should not be in the national title game.

The big east plays 7 conference games and no championship game. It's pathetic. WVU doesn't deserve a NC shot with that joke of a schedule.

Big East teams play every member of their conference, just like the trash league Cal is in. Try again.

We play 2 more nonconference games. They play 5 games against the dregs of div 1a. Going undefeated in the pac-10 is infinitely harder than it is in the big east.

No, it's not. To go undefeated this year in the Big East, a team would have to beat 3 Top 15 teams and South Florida, who will be in the Top 25 when the season is over. To go undefeated in the PAC 10, a team would have to beat USC and a bunch of slop.

big east went 5-0 in bowl games last year and their conference champs have beat the SEC And ACC Champs the last 2 years.
I'd say that's worthy of at least some respect.

The catalyst for all this seems to have been from West Virginia beating Georgia in the Sugar Bowl a couple years back. If anybody remembers that game, Georgia was clearly not playing the first half... WVU jumped out to an insurmountable lead, but when you watched the two teams play in the second half, you could clearly see that Georgia was physically on a different level.

As for their play against the ACC... Well, Miami is still sliding, and Florida State's offense is beyond godawful. Wake freakin' Forest won the ACC.

I can't say the Big East hasn't improved over the last couple years, but I also see a lot of smoke and mirrors in play with that. Not to mention the fact that the Big East performing well is good for ESPN. Basically, WVU sneaks in a BCS win over the SEC champs, then every time they beat WVU, it's considered a major win. Even though none of them have any real significant wins over the last couple years.

I was listening to sporting news radio last night and they were saying they are so tired of hearing how the SEC is the best conference and they play 00C cupcakes teams and that 90% of them are at home and they picked LSU to get upset this Thursday. ESPN has LSU/USC in the NC game, I dont see that happening.

Then they are complete fools.
