West Virginia vs Oklahoma

It’s pretty obvious the Big 12 wants OU to win to help get them into the playoffs. That missed targeting call was egregious.
And even the announcers were questioning it....like, “could that maybe have possibly in any way on God’s green earth somewhat have been considered to be a potential targeting?” Wtf? It was a BLATANT targeting with the crown of #20’s helmet to Simms’ helmet. Textbook stuff imo.

Watching this incredible game just reminds me of how many billions of light years we are away from being a good football team. We were physically dominated all day long at the line of scrimmage, couldn’t do anything. Meanwhile, a very good offensive team, Oklahoma, is running through WVa like they’re not even there.

Also missed a blatant face mask by WVa on the long pass to Antonio Brown’s cousin though. Maybe they’re just the typical awful college football officiating crew?

Well neither OU nor WV has a Haslam running things.

We've fallen several light years behind as far as size and speed. We need everything. Playmakers. Corners. Edge rushers. Big defensive linemen. Offensive tackle types. Tailbacks. Quarterbacks. We almost have nothing that's at a championship level. It's really sad. We need three straight top 5 recruiting classes to catch up to the top our of league.

Nor does either team play any defense. It’s 35-21 and not even at halftime yet.
WVa played some serious defense against Tennessee. They’re not a bad defense per se, just can’t do anything with a great offense like Oklahoma’s.

We literally have NOTHING at championship level, nowhere even close.

Here’s hoping that Pruitt is the guy who can get this thing going again. No doubt he’s completely starting from scratch.

Agreed. But its the biggest in between a rock and a hard place type of situation for us. Like you said, we need a good 3 straight top 5 classes to get back so to speak. But we need to be a winning program to get them. But we dont have the players to be a winning program.

That is why the Auburn game was big. We will begin to get some of these big-time Southern kids to take us serious by doing two things. Beating the "real" teams in our league, and quit losing to the other teams in our league. Pruitt is doing what he can with bad players. I know what he can do defensively with good to great players. I know what Tennessee can be offensively with good to great players. So it is just a matter of time for the recruiting to take place. I'll be expecting an SEC Title capable team for the 2020 season. When you are faced with the task of beating UF, UGA & UA in the first half of EVERY season (just to win your division), then you need one hell of a team. It takes time to build a hell of a team from nothing. We've got to be in it for the long haul. A long damn hual. A very long damn hual. Alaska to Alabama long.
