Still a Zags fan in the WCC, but seeing a school that I live right down the street from get off to this kind of start is pretty neat. Beating Oregon, UCLA, Minnesota, and possibly West Virginia and Washington would be a hell of a start to the season. Translate that into winning the WCC and you're looking at a team that will get a very good seed.

Should be a great game tonight. 10:00EST on ESPN2.

Portland has had a great November. UCLA and Oregon aren't tourney teams this year, but the Minnesota victory is big and a win over WVU would be absolutely huge.

Yeah. Great leadership, the starting group consists of four seniors and a junior, which attributes to the success they've been having. I get the feeling that UCLA or Minnesota would beat them if they played again in February or March. I don't think they'll go far in the tournament.

I wouldn't count on UCLA beating anyone at any point this year.

At least Gonzaga will get some competition in the WCC this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see that experience help them rattle a team in the first weekend of the tourney this year.

I haven't followed their program recently. What happened to them? Some of those scores this year are horrendous.
Losing so many guys to the NBA early has taken its toll. They're excruciatingly young.

I know Howland is a pretty good coach, but will losing like this at a program like UCLA end his stay in Westwood?

There's nothing Huggs enjoys more than curbstomping Cinderella. More early season hardware for the Big East.
