Western Carolina - 24-11 (9-3) Overall/Conference, RPI 58, SOS 166.

Worst Loss: ETSU

Best Win: Clemson

Common Opponent: swept La Salle, lost to UGA

We beat WC last year 10-5. They are a very solid team and will not be a "mid-week push over".

Several of our players, Andrew Lee, Will Maddox, Drake Owenby played summer ball with Aaron Attaway and Cody Jones this past season with SOL Blues.

Jones leads the team in hits and Attaway is 10-11 SB/A, Attaway is not the best fielder.

They have a Team Batting Average of .298.

I'm guessing we'll see Colton Davis (So. RHP) start on the hill. He has a 3-2 w/l, 4.74 ERA, 24.2 IP, 27 H, 17 R, 13 ER, 17 BB, 29 SO

Team ERA is 4.14

Fielding % is .964, 49 errors on the season.

The game is FREE ADMISSION, first pitch scheduled for 6PM.

how can etsu be worst loss didn't they beat the VOLS

ETSU has an RPI of 200. When looking at who WC has lost to, ETSU has the worst RPI...there are some other schools, like Furman, North Florida that have RPI's in the 180's that WC has lost to as well.

WCU, like UT in that both are still trying to recover from having Todd Raleigh as their head coach.

Surprisingly Raleigh did well (considering the obstacles) at WCU. Success there led him to the UT job. A buddy of mine played for him and liked him a lot as a coach. The UT job was too much too soon according to him......
