So, What about the STAT’s???

— Something that no one’s mentioned, yet…..

I’m NOT talking about “commercials”. — I’m talking about “game-time”! (And I am not crazy about watching the end of an Iowa State game, or a Wake Forest game, either)…..

But, with the New first down rule & less time in the game - what happens to all of the Schools; Games; Coaches; Players: STATS & Records that have been set in college football?

Some of them would be completely “unobtainable” or even “unapproachable”.

THIS STUFF DOES MATTER!….

So, do we put an “asterisk” (*) in front of the Old-game standard - or in front of the New one?

— Are we supposed to just “wipe the slate clean” And start over from 2023?

Also, I think that it robs the fans (however slightly) of a full “game-day” experience - And many stadiums will pay dearly for that……

Classic Example: Now that NBA games are 48 minutes long instead of 60 minutes long - No One will ever come close to Lebron James & Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s scoring records - EVER!…….

In 1996, college football added overtime to each game, so the games were extended and records before that were at risk because of increased snaps. In 2006, an extra game was added to the season, obviously inflating season stats. The small amount of game time lost by this rule change is miniscule. Change happens all the time.

I agree. Everyone has to go pee during the game. Now we old fans might have to wear additional protection.
