I love when people act like such incidents are unprecedented. I watched Nick Van Exel and Bob Huggins go at each other in huddles for two solid years. Certainly didn't seem to keep UC from being successful. Not when he tells a coach to 'be quiet' and 'calm down' when being yelled at for losing by 20 on your home court.
The list of successful coaches who would consider that "incident" no big deal is enormous. The two guys who played for the national title last year wouldn't give it a second thought.I never said it would keep UK from being successful. But letting a player act like that is not a wise precedent to set.
Maybe he was playing to the level of his competition.

Nick Van Exel worked tirelessly on his game. His only concern was what he could do to help his team win. Smith and Crews were only concerned about which East Knoxville establishment would let them smoke blunts and drink underage on their premises. No contradiction there. You seem to contradict yourself in another thread...
"I was Ramar's biggest supporter. That said, losing those guys has been a Godsend to this program. Keeping guys with toxic attitudes and nonexistant work ethics on your team is never beneficial. If we were casting a sequel to New Jack City, keeping them around would have made sense. Otherwise, their removal from the team was warranted and essential to the progress of the program."
Why would he want to be in Dayton?
I just caught this one. This and the "insult to dumps everywhere" cracked me up. Sometimes I find your posts quite irritating but most of the time you bring creative wit that gives me a good chuckle. Well done.Maybe he was playing to the level of his competition.
