Riley didn't practice at all on Thursday due to a leg problem. I think he just caught a bad break at precisely the worst time which might end his season and give Dobbs a head start. Ferguson will now likely redshirt, not due to the severity of the injury, but because it would probably not be wise to burn both redshirts. Ferguson had been Worley's backup until the "leg injury". Although Butch didn't mention it in the postgame interview, Riley was wearing the wrap on the sideline and was not 100%. Ferguson had offers from Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Clemson. If Dobbs takes the job and runs with it, the threat of Ferguson transferring is very real. Unlike Bray, who was not academically gifted, Dobbs is unlikely to leave after three years. Ferguson cannot count on having two years after Dobbs is gone. I never thought we'd be able to keep both guys.
Pretty sure CBJ said in his presser Ferguson had a minor injury and thats why dobbs went in, so no Riley will still compete next year.
Peterman, yes he will be gone. He sucks!
Worley will be a great signal caller lol.
I dont think Ferguson signed at UT to possibly play for one year and be a bench warmer behind someone from the same signing class.
I do believe Ferguson is better at practice but Dobbs is better when the lights come on. I believer Ferguson stays because there is an extra year where he would be able to start. Peterman can transfer though cause I doubt he see's the field anytime soon.
If Dobbs continues to perform on the field, Ferguson would be wasting his eligibility if he stays as a backup.
I believe the odds were stacked against Peterman in the Florida game. He is not as bad as that performance at Florida. The o-line gave him no time at all. I am not saying he is better than the other three but I remember Peyton playing Florida in the rain and had a awful game and looked terrible, but we all know that he is and was a great QB. All I'm saying is don't judge him on that one performance.
I hate it but will be surprised if Peterman does not. I will be surprised if any of the other three do.
Read the whole posts next time. It actually states about him being able to start if he is best player at the position to help the team win. He will have to compete regardless of where he goes. Just because Dobbs played one half vs Bama doesn't mean he gets the job for this year plus three more automatically.
Who cares if Peterman transfers. As for Ferguson he is suposedly a fierce competitor. He may view as an extra challenge to try and win the job next year. Or he could pack his bags. Hopr he sticks it out
If Ferg redshirts he will then have at least one year to have an opportunity to have the job as a senior. With that said, if he is going to give us the best chance to win next year or the year after that, then he will beat out Dobbs and take over the job. Any school worth a crap that he goes to he will have to compete to win the job and not just have it handed to him. At this point, he could transfer and put himself in the same situation he is in now where he has to try and win the job.

now that Dobbs has played instead of Ferguson and Peterman looked terrible against the gators and got injured?
Peterman would be behind Dobbs if Dobbs gets to play against missouri and does well..
I dont see bUTch playing 3 qbs regularly and they all want to start.
