What are the chances that Peterman and Ferguson transfer

I feel bad for him, but I dont think Peterman will play anymore. Dobbs did fine today & from what I've heard since the end of the game today, Worley is okay!

Peterman's future at UT probably involves carrying a clipboard, so he may move on.

Ferguson is not going to hold a clipboard for the next three years IMO. I agree that Peterman will transfer. I hope Butch freely releases him if he asks to go. As for Ferguson, I think Butch will try to sell him on the idea that he will be the co #1 going into spring practice.

Riley didn't practice at all on Thursday due to a leg problem. I think he just caught a bad break at precisely the worst time which might end his season and give Dobbs a head start. Ferguson will now likely redshirt, not due to the severity of the injury, but because it would probably not be wise to burn both redshirts. Ferguson had been Worley's backup until the "leg injury". Although Butch didn't mention it in the postgame interview, Riley was wearing the wrap on the sideline and was not 100%. Ferguson had offers from Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Clemson. If Dobbs takes the job and runs with it, the threat of Ferguson transferring is very real. Unlike Bray, who was not academically gifted, Dobbs is unlikely to leave after three years. Ferguson cannot count on having two years after Dobbs is gone. I never thought we'd be able to keep both guys.

This is exactly correct. Ferguson did not play because he was injured. It's too soon to say who the better QB is, and they may end up alternating next year. If not, Worley will probably be around as the backup, and Ferg or Dobbs (whoever does NOT get the nod) will probably transfer. Honestly hope Dobbs gets the start, because he is an aerospace engineering major and will almost certainly be here for 4 years. Additionally, Peterman is probably putting in his application to Chattanooga or UT-Martin. I don't think we see him playing anymore.

I think Peterman leaves and finds a place he can play. No shame in that.

I think everyone else stays for next year. Things change in a hurry with injuries.

We are lucky to have 4 QB's that can play. We are on our third one already.

Ferguson is going to have all kinds of opportunities to compete for the starting job while he's here. If not for that leg injury he might have played the 2nd half today, or maybe Dobbs had surpassed him anyway.

Regardless he'll have his chance.

Just think if a kid name Stewart had beaten out a kid named Manning? these things usually work them selves out, unfortunately college football isn't pee wee football were every kid plays, so the best QB will win the job and if someone transfer then that is OK it happens all the time.

Pretty sure CBJ said in his presser Ferguson had a minor injury and thats why dobbs went in, so no Riley will still compete next year.

Peterman, yes he will be gone. He sucks!

Worley will be a great signal caller lol.

I believe the odds were stacked against Peterman in the Florida game. He is not as bad as that performance at Florida. The o-line gave him no time at all. I am not saying he is better than the other three but I remember Peyton playing Florida in the rain and had a awful game and looked terrible, but we all know that he is and was a great QB. All I'm saying is don't judge him on that one performance.

Ferguson was hurt and had a wrap on his leg all week. Let's not clean out the guys dorm room yet. Him and Dobbs will have a ton of chances to compete for the job.

I dont think Ferguson signed at UT to possibly play for one year and be a bench warmer behind someone from the same signing class.

Read the whole posts next time. It actually states about him being able to start if he is best player at the position to help the team win. He will have to compete regardless of where he goes. Just because Dobbs played one half vs Bama doesn't mean he gets the job for this year plus three more automatically.

I do believe Ferguson is better at practice but Dobbs is better when the lights come on. I believer Ferguson stays because there is an extra year where he would be able to start. Peterman can transfer though cause I doubt he see's the field anytime soon.

lulz, u seen fergy play in how many games this year?..dobbs did good today but u have no idea how ferguson is or how good he could be at game time.

Allll speculation. The best QB will get the starting job... for every game remaining this season, for 2014, for 2015... Hell, it could be Jalan McClendon starting for the Vols in 2014, or it could be Dobbs starting every game from now until January of 2017.

If Dobbs continues to perform on the field, Ferguson would be wasting his eligibility if he stays as a backup.

He only played two quarter's. It was much better than Worley but what is all this, if he keeps performing, like he came back and beat bama. I've been a Dobbs guy from the get go but it sounds like Dobbs and Ferguson have been pretty close to the same in practice so even if Dobbs starts the rest of the year I still see it as an open competition next year. Now if Dobbs wins that out then yes I could see Ferguson transferring.

Absolutely correct, IMHO.....had Dobbs started at Florida he would be in the same situation as Peterman is now.

I hate it but will be surprised if Peterman does not. I will be surprised if any of the other three do.

it could happen, will Ferg want to sit on the bench? with maybe Dobbs getting a lot of snaps the rest of the year ? I would think Petermen will most likely leave and will Worley want to move on if Dobbs gets his starting position ?

It isnt merely that Dobbs has played one half of ball. It is that it was bUTch's decision to choose his red shirt to burn thereby placing him ahead of Ferguson.

Who cares if Peterman transfers. As for Ferguson he is suposedly a fierce competitor. He may view as an extra challenge to try and win the job next year. Or he could pack his bags. Hopr he sticks it out

I learned that you like all of us know nothing. They could transfer or they could not. Threads like this are pointless. Who cares, if they want to be here then great. If not, then good luck at UTC. I hope they stay, but there is no need to talk about this crap during the season. We don't know how anyone will play or get hurt in the future. Things can change and it's ludicrous to try to predict the future.

If Ferg redshirts he will then have at least one year to have an opportunity to have the job as a senior. With that said, if he is going to give us the best chance to win next year or the year after that, then he will beat out Dobbs and take over the job. Any school worth a crap that he goes to he will have to compete to win the job and not just have it handed to him. At this point, he could transfer and put himself in the same situation he is in now where he has to try and win the job.

Exactly, there is competition at every school. We aren't even recruiting a QB this year. It's Dobbs and Ferguson the next several years. Each one will only be 1 play away from being the starting QB

How do you even make this statement... There is ZERO EVIDENCE as Ferguson has not seen the field yet? Dobbs played great, but this is pure speculation built on nothing.:peace2:

now that Dobbs has played instead of Ferguson and Peterman looked terrible against the gators and got injured?

Peterman would be behind Dobbs if Dobbs gets to play against missouri and does well..

I dont see bUTch playing 3 qbs regularly and they all want to start.

Ferguson will likely be the starter next year, so I doubt he will transfer. Peterman will battle Worley for the third team spot.
