Since it seems that Charlie Strong to Texas is pretty much a done deal, what are the chances Strong asks Kiffin to be his OC? For some reason, Kiffin is a really well respected offensive mind and even Saban asked him for advice during the bowl break (we see how that worked out for them). But is this something that is possible?

Kiffin is all bark and no bite. Lots of hot air. I think people are beginning to see through him and his daddy.

I just don't get why Kiffin is seen as an offensive guru. When Orgeron gets more production from your offense after you leave, you know you're overrated.

I don't see Kiffin taking anything other then another top level HC job if he can get it (or if not that something on TV - I can see him doing what Gruden does fairly well).
More likely Dooley gets hired for that type of offensive coordinator position (if not Texas somewhere else - supposedly Muschamp was considering him at UF).

And why people on this board gets a woody every time his name comes up.

God help us if Gruden were ever hired as HC and he brings Kiffin back as his OC.

Has a zero percent chance of happening---maybe less. He'll be a position coach in the NFL.

I second that emotion. A Gruden/Kiffin combo would be a disaster. I could only wish a duet like that to a place like Bama.

The only thing left for Kiffin is a position coach position in the pros. Probably QB or passing game coordinator.

How did that work out for Bama? :):):)

Kiffin is taking over for Jimmy Fallon in February. He is a joke waiting to happen.

Actually he told Dan Patrick he'd be OC and when asked if he'd come back to the SEC said "if I eliminate too many options I'll never get another job."

That would be a huge surprise to me since I figured he has enough money to at least not have to put himself through that type of embarrassment (even if someone in SEC actually wanted him after what he's done to us and how he made fun of everyone else in SEC - there would be so much media craziness around that story I can't imagine him putting his family through it).
But if he said it ...

What are you talking about?

Kiffin is not going to get another top level HC job. How many guys get fired from one top level college job and get hired in another? It won't happen. At least not in this decade. Kiffin is pretty much doomed to assistant coach or small school (probably sub-FBS) HC jobs for the foreseeable future.

And Kiffin on TV? Seriously? The guy looked awkward in preproduced spots and simple press conferences. You think he could improvise banter on set of a major sports show?

I disagree. Kiffin speaks well (people pay attention when he speaks whether we like it or not), recruits well, and a lot of people who know football value his football knowledge (good example is Saban who recently had him at Bama to brainstorm). Given this there will be a school at some point (not a top 10 or even top 20) - but there will be another school (or even NFL team) that may very seriously consider him - but it will be somewhere out west where fans will not be as "hot" about him as they would be in the south.
Same thing will happen with Dooley - he is still young enough where he may eventually become HC again (although he will probably first be hired as OC somewhere and have to prove himself in that type of job - but he also clearly knows his X's and O's or otherwise Cowboys or Saban would have never hired him).
