Not protecting big oil as much as preventing a witch-hunt by a party that is desperate to find a bad guy to take the heat off of them.

What can obamama be thinking, shutting down all American oil drilling and future production, shutting down platforms that might be used later, using the American financial structure to fund foreign drilling while twenty three foreign countries still drill in the gulf.

One might think he is acting on behalf of an intellectual elite in a far distant capital while telling the American people to go to hell.

Why have a hearing? What is the point besides grandstanding? If BP did something wrong, let Holder and Justice take care of it. They do such a wonderful job upholding law. Congressional hearings are jokes - across the board. We'd rather have Colbert mocking gay Iowans than discussing serious issues anyway.
