I went searching on multiple Tide forums to see what they were saying about this whole Saban to Texas fiasco. Here are a few things I've seen...

Several fans saying things like "I'm starting to get sick to my stomach" or "This is starting to make me nervous..." Or the best one "I will throw up if Saban goes to Texas"

Also read things like "We should trust Saban. Until he says otherwise, his word is his bond and he is the coach of the Tide."

I found it funny when I saw the thread on tidefans.com had been re-started by a mod and he opened by saying things like "No rumors are allowed in this new thread - only reliable sources! If you can't name who said, then you shouldn't say it either!"

Definitely seems like half of them are getting really scared/nervous while the other half is in complete denial.

If Texas doesnt lure him maybe Houston will. Gotta believe he's still got that NFL bug in his crawl.

The ones in denial are hilarious. Saban may not go to Texas but these Bama fans' rationale is just out there. A ton of them actually believe that Alabama is a better job than Texas. You can't convince these fools otherwise.

Said it before I'll say it again, I hope he stays around long enough for us to start whipping his tail. If he leaves now those crimson creeps will always hang it over our head "You never beat Saban."

I think at this point he's just trolling the entire nation by not signing that extension, I really don't see him leaving 'Bama...Hell I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it.

On an unrelated note, the similarities between the Mack Brown deal and Fulmer are so similar it's eerie...After watching his Alamo Bowl press conference, he's definitely a consummate professional.

Anyone know if Saban has this new contract in hand? Bamawriter would know, where you at BM?

Until Saban signs the extention I'll believe he's listening. Why piss off or worry the base?

I don't know if the "BM" was a typo, but either way that is a very politely worded insult.

The only contract that I know Saban has seen is the extension from Bama. Given that they don't currently have a position to offer, I think it's very unlikely that Texas has put anything in writing. But they could be in constant contact with Jimmy Sexton, so I'm sure Saban would know what's potentially on the table.

Saban has been on a recruiting trip for the past several days.

The degenerate gambling alcoholic otherwise known as "Bear Bryant" never beat the General so we're even.

07 is the only year they could really brag about anyway. What glory is there in beating a team that went 78-104 in the 6 years since. That's like us bragging that Fulmer never lost to UK.

Be careful what you joke about. A loss to a Kiffin-coached Bama team would cause this place to shut down irreparably.

This is assuming there would still be a State of Alabama after the meltdown straight out of the Book of Revelations if Kiffin was announced as your head coach?

Eh, if we are talking about just history, you can always throw back Fulmer was their daddy.
