Does anyone have any idea of what bowl game we will be in??? And by the way were better then a decent team, we had a VERY TOUGH SCHEDULE THIS YEAR lost 2 games w/o our starter, and had a pretty inexperianced Defense. Next year assuming meachem comes back and a defense that is experianced, and a couple good pick ups in recruiting we are once again back in the national title hunt. GO VOLS

BCS is out of reach.

Capitol One is out of reach.

I think that Outback is a REAL posibility with Penn St being the most likely opponent, but also could be Purdue.

If we don't get that game, the Cotton may take us, they LOVE the Vols. The opponent would be Oklahoma more than likely, unless Nebraska beats Texas and the Cotton takes them.

If neither of those are there, we go to the Chik-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta and we play a team from the ACC. Hard to say who. If Wake makes it to the ACC Championship and loses, but Va Tech beats them tonight, it will be a toss-up between those two teams. If Georgia Tech loses the ACC Championship Game, they may invite them IF they beat UGA next week, but I think they will pass on them because of limited hotel revenue from Tech already being in ATL, so they would then revert to Virginia Tech again.

If I were handicaping the Chik-Fil-A Bowl possibilities I would say Virginia Tech 55%, Wake Forest 25% and Georgia Tech 20%.

Tennessee's possibilities:
Outback 50%
Cotton 25%
Chik-Fil-A 25%

The Cotton won't pass on LSU and Auburn both.

The thing is, that for that to come into play, the Outback would have to take a 10-2 Auburn team, and then with LSU's third loss coming to Arkansas on Friday, the Cotton would choose between 9-3 teams Tennessee and LSU.

I don't want the Cotton as it is covered by Fox and gets absolutely no publicity by the gods of sports (ESPN).

Probably not, but it's a possibility.

Probably more 30% Chik-Fil-A and 20% Cotton if they don't get selected by the Outback Bowl.
Just can't see us in the Cotton Bowl. The contract directs them to give preference to teams from the SEC West. Auburn and LSU will both have records as good or better than the Vols. I think the Outback Bowl may try to do a little make good after skipping UT a couple of years ago.

If the SEC gets two BCS teams (Florida, Arkansas) then Auburn would go Capitol One, and Tennessee is solid in the Outback I would think.

If SEC only gets one in the BCS and the Capitol One takes either the SEC CG loser or Auburn, and then Outback takes the other one, then Tennessee and LSU would be the two for the Cotton to choose between.

wouldn't the Cotton get to pick over the Outback as far as SEC West opponents?

I think we could get the Music City even if we beat UK. Just depends on if the Chik-Fila reps want the homestate UGA over the better UT.

We're not going to lose to Kentucky...and we're going to win our bowl game.

George Plaster said to "book it."

no one's ever explained the reason UGA over UT for Chik Fil A... no money would made w/ a UGA pick... the AJC was just trying to help UGA out... no way do they get the nod over UT

No, the order is:

Capitol One (Usually SEC CG loser or highest ranked non SEC CG team)
Outback (SEC #2 not in BCS, usually EAST but not REQUIRED)
Cotton (Next SEC team, usually WEST, but not REQUIRED.)
Chik-Fil-A (Next SEC TEAM, usually East, not required)
Music City (Best SEC team left)

After that, the other bowls rotate the order.

I THINK this season's order is:

Liberty then Independance.
