What bowl will the Vols go to?

If we win out, and the right things happen and right teams lose...BCS bowl.....If not....Capital One Bowl is ok with me, especially after last year

Best case scenario: UT wins out, finishes 11-1. Florida loses to Auburn in SEC Championship. Tennessee gets at large bid to BCS Bowl over an 11-2 Florida team.

I thought that beating Arkansas and LSU (if we can actually pull that off) would really help us. But, I'm not positive it will in the computers. LSU gets no respect whatsoever in the computer polls (ranked 24th)....and Arkansas is better at 14th. But, if the right one loss teams win from here out...we could easily get shut out of the BCS. We have two very hard games coming up that won't help us as much as we would like in the computers unless others lose. The human polls may be another story, where LSU gets much more respect. Obviously what is keeping Cal ahead of us now is the number 3 ranking in the computers....they must really honor total points scored or something (although margin of victory could play into Cal as well...they're really been butt-stomping after we taught them how).

You honestly think Arkansas will win out? I'd say they'll drop at least one, maybe two games.

That wouldnt be winning out, they currently only have one loss. They have to loose two just to not take the west.

Yeah, win out during the regular season. I saw that he had them losing to Florida in the SEC Championship. There's no way they win the rest of their regular season games.

This isn't the best case scenario. The best case scenario is Tennessee winning out, Florida losing to SC or Vandy.

However, your example STILL isn't even the best case scenario for us as an at large bid.

If Florida beats Auburn, Auburn WILL fall far enough behind Tennessee to make the BCS bowls pick UT. Easily. If Florida loses to Auburn, the argument that Florida beat Tennessee will be extremely valid. Florida might not be penalized by losing the SECCG.

Thus, Florida winning the SECCG is our best chance for an at-large BCS bid.

Now I really hope they do, so you can see how ridiculous it is to say things like this. COllege football is so hokie and unpredictable, that its ignorant to say that there is NO WAY something happens.

You're forgetting the fact that Auburn beat Florida and Tennessee didn't. Even if Florida beats them in the SEC Championship, Auburn could still get a BCS bowl over us.

Also, Florida won't lose to USC or Vandy, so I'd say I was right to say that would be a best-case scenario. You don't honestly think SC or Vandy has a chance, do you?

No, what's ridiculous is you trying to take away my opinion on an internet message board. State your arguement and go on with your day.

Yes, they have a chance. As much as you will hate to admit, every possible event in college football has a chance. The FACT is that the best case scenario is Florida losing. It's not the most likely, obviously.

However, Florida losing to Auburn hurts our BCS chances far more than Auburn losing to Florida. Florida is 4th in the BCS and a loss to a 1-loss Auburn team wouldn't move them very far, maybe not enough to be behind us. Auburn WOULD drop behind us.

There is a HUGE difference between saying "I don't think they come out unscathed the rest of the way" and "THERE IS NO WAY OMGZORS"

And yet I still do... oh, I'm so ignorant.:eek:k:

It's ignorant, period. I could say Vanderbilt *could* go 12-0 in 2007, because they *could*. It might have less than a 100th of a chance, but it *could*. I'm a very literal person, so take that into account, too. :)

Well... calm yourself, because there is NO WAY they win the rest of their regular season games. Tennessee will prove me right next Saturday... as will LSU in a few more weeks.

There IS A WAY. You're proving my point. I will agree that it's HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely they win out. In fact, I also predict they won't, but I know they could.
