Take Tennessee farther than they've ever gone.

Set the record for wins in a season.

Double the teams Sweet 16 appearances.

Raise the teams wining percentage in the tournament.

Harris should follow him on his way out. The way some fans have treated Pearl is unreal. I've been watching this team since the days of Marcus Haislip and Vincent Yarborough. That may not be the longest stretch, it's certainly long enough to realize that fans could be in for a rude awakening.

Bruce Pearl... he lied to the NCAA about a BBQ and tried to cover it up. So what? Bill Clinton cheated on his wife and tried to cover it up. Oregon and LSU pay services to take kids out to expensive dinners and show them around town.

I don't care. I just don't freaking care....

You guys are making Pearl out to be freaking Judas. This is(or was) our coach... Numbers don't lie. The guy has accomplished more in 6 years than Tennessee had ever accomplished prior.

I get it... he lied. What he did is hardly cheating though. Cheating is a stretch when you look at what other schools are getting away with.

My parting words, good luck Bruce. I will support Tennessee with or without you. With that being said, I will also support Pearl with or without Tennessee fans. He could have pulled a Calipari and ditched Tennessee. The Memphis offers were on the table. He could have abandoned ship before they abandoned him... he didn't do that. He sunk with with the ship that he helped build.

I'm going to do the same for Pearl. :salute:

So your message is clear. It's better to let the ship sink than try to right the ship with another guy. Good to know your opinion.

I agree. I hate seeing so many people turn on Bruce. That's why I wanted UT to make the deepest run they ever have this year so when he gets shown the door at least he can do it with a smile :D

If that's what you took away from it, it explains why I've always thought you're the worst guru on this site to begin with. Being around the longest, doesn't make you the most knowledgeable. This is clear.

You left out the bump 4 days after he bawled and said he'd never do it again.

Agreed...I've been watching UT bball since the early 80's and have seen some real clowns come through Knoxville. It has been great watching the team playing in the NCAA tourney the past 6 years save for this year. Its been a great run for TN and for those like Hat and Law VOL 13 who think we can get a coach in here who can get us back to the level Pearl brought us obviously haven't learned from the history of this program.

So, you don't care that he asked a recruit to lie? And keep in mind that he helped scuttle the 'ship.'

Bruce Pearl's "offer" from Memphis existed in the same way Bigfoot does: Only in the minds of those who want to believe it existed.

Do you really trust the AD to hire someone to prevent the ship from sinking?

Hammy is more likely to hire John Wooden's son on the promise that he can bring his father's spirit to Knoxville to serve as his assistant. This is the mental level of our AD.

Until Hamilton goes, this isn't anything but a sinking ship.

Pearl is done. But the Hammy sycophants need to acknowledge the time is here for their man to exit as well.

He certainly shouldn't have done that, but still, I don't think that should just negate the net positive he has been for the university. It's been a great ride knowing year in and year out that we are going to field a competitive basketball team. By firing Pearl and allowing Mike Hamilton to have a hand in picking another coach, we run a very real risk of going back to our days of wandering the college hoops desert where even our best years were mediocre. He hit the jackpot with Pearl, but every other hire he has made has been a disaster.

I was a BP supporter until today's game.
The consequences of his actions were apparent in the mindset of the kids and their play.
His comments after the game were questionable to say the least. He still doesn't get it.
I hate to see him leave, but enough is enough.
And I don't think we have any chance of getting a quality replacement unless Hamilton is kicked out on his fat ass.

I think that CBP has done great things for UT. That being said, if they can him, I hope they can MH as well.
