What commitments will stay? Where does Tyler Bray stand?

I wouldn't be surprised if we lose close to everyone.

We will be fine. Bray's family has already moved here. Miller is solid. Thompkins and Simms are enrolled. Kippy and the current players will be reminding these kids that football at UT will live on no matter what. I just hope we can get some warm bodies at the OL position.

We will not be upgrading at this point forward. Our foucus should be trying to retain what we have.

Vols first casualty: Michael Taylor decommits and will pledge Florida

Michael Taylor (51) of Atlanta Westlake High, has decommitted from Tennesee after the Lane Kiffin news and he will announce a pledge to Florida. (Phelan Ebenhack/For the Orlando Sentinel / January 2, 2010)

It was only a few hours after the news about coach Lane Kiffin leaving Tennessee for USC, that the Vols already had one recruiting defector.

And if it's not bad enough that linebacker Michael Taylor of Atlanta Westlake decommitted, it will definitely chap Volunteers' fans that he's going to announce he'll be committing to Florida today or later this week. Taylor, an Under Armour All-America game MVP, took a visit to Gainesville this past weekend and must have been impressed.

"Yeah he is going to the University of Florida," said Taylor's high school teammate, Tony Jacob, who is a UCF commitment.

Another source close to Taylor also confirmed that he's now a Gator. Taylor could not be reached for comment.

Taylor, a 6-foot-1, 200-pounder, committed to Tennesee in August and was one of the Vols' prized recruits. Numerous Tennessee pledges were left in the dark Tuesday night as they sporadically learned of the news. Expect more fallout from this latest coaching defection.

I would hope that a lot of these kids would wait and see who we get as the new HC, but I severely doubt they do. I hope Hammy makes a good, quick hire. If he doesn't, then it may be years before we compete again.

The fallout is going to be long and bad. We will keep the majority but some of the key players will be heading out. This has set back UT football for a year or two.

Can't really blame any of the kids for going elsewhere. It's really a shame. Gotta feel bad for the EE's
