Spurrier will not be able to duplicate the success he had at Florida, but he will make them contenders in the East in a few years.

Steve will suffer the same fate as everyone else at USC

What was his record against Tennessee?

I think its 8-4 [/quote]
The 4 were...

1990 45-3
1992 31-14
1998 20-17
2001 34-32

It will give us another chance to stomp the visored one.... SC will not be as kind to him as Florida was but he will be successful I Think

I think he'll do better than Holtz. However, he won't be able to sit back and watch 5-Star recruits knock down his door like he did in Gainesville. Word on Spurrier is that he didn't like to recruit (the offseason if for golfing, after all). He could get away with minimal time at UF. USC will be a full time job. I'll have to see it to believe it.

It's going to be really difficult to win games in the SEC East over the next few years... the coaching talent in that part of the conference is scary, but Spurrier won't have the same caliber players that most of the other coaches in the conference will. (Fulmer, Richt, Meyer)

4th place, SEC East, just dominant enough to keep Kentucky and Vanderbilt in the basement.

P.S. I hope we give him a spanking in Neyland next year like he's never seen before. Couldn't find complete stats, but two good comparison Spurrier beatings I'd enjoy are the '95 Fiesta Bowls (Nebraska 62-24) or '99 SECCG (Alabama 34-7).

What about his first visit to Neyland as UF coach?

45-3 That was fun :naughty:

Bar none . . . best Spurrier beat down of all time; 1990 in Knoxville

7-3 at halftime . . . final score Tennessee 45 - Florida 3

Yeah, but that was early, on probation, before we beat a squad of his own recruits.

'Course, 45-3 would work for me.

I don't care when it was . . . SOS was on the sideline throwing his visor. That's good enough for me. :D
