Personally it pisses me off how it's never in the news, when every single day we had to hear about our investigation. Even browsing on the internet I can't seem to find anything recent. I don't think there is any way in hell they are getting off the hook. Is the investigation still on going? What do you think their punishment will be?

I doubt anybody will ever get the death penalty again. But if it did happen, Miami would be a good candidate. And I wouldn't care.

NCAA investigations seem to get very meticulous on this kind of thing, especially when the allegations are this big/serious (...and not just localized to the school alone)

Just wait on it, they take their time to investigate (most serious investigations take quite a deal of time anyways) and get everything in order before doing something rather than just brazenly throwing out a punishment, then and there, in the initial heat of the moment

no, they're not going to be let off the hook unless the guy making the accusations was only doing them to try and redirect people/punishment from him without any sort of basis at all

i don't think so either - mainly due to the extremes SMU program went to and just how serious/program-crippling it was - though i wouldn't be surprised were the old TV ban to somehow be implemented again

Who knows. The Shapiro's most egregious accusations continue to go unproven and Shapiro strikes a very vengeful posture throughout this proceeding.

Miami has worked with the NCAA thus far, none of the coaches accused of wrong-doing are currently with the program (the benefits of which UT can directly attest in an NCAA proceeding) and Miami has already self-imposed some penalties.

However, there is no denying that players took benefits. What those benefits were worth, however, is up for contention. What the University has been able to substantiate so far is that Shapiro picked up a few tabs at Benihana's and a upscale bowling alley for some players and some strip club money. What should the NCAA punishment for that be?

the thing is that these allegations are in a whole different ball park that what we've seen with OSU, UT, and USC. Allegations of abortions and what not, that don't just question the character of a program but a total lack of control. i'm very interested to see how this turns out

Gimme a break man. Anyone can concoct a story about paying someone to have an abortion. None of that crap is verified, Shapiro just included that garbage to grab headlines and sell copies of his book, so he can pay his bilked investors back and try to shorten his prison sentence.

That said, I'm interested in seeing how it turns out as well.
