As fans we only have so much power. I’m as frustrated as anyone with the way the OSU game went. OSU was more talented they had better athletes and they also straight up executed better.

We as fans have the power to change that. Why does OSU have such a good roster ?

A lot of it has to do with NIL. We got outspent and while NIL is far from the only factor it’s the only one we can easily fix as fans.

I’m donating a few hundred more dollars to spyre sports. From what I saw from this amazing fanbase we are as passionate as anybody and I’m confident we can give this team the resources and time it needs to succeed. I may not be a mega donor but we have millions of fans if a few percent of them can spend $100 more we can make up the difference. I sure hope a mega donor steps in and takes care of it but instead of complaining I’m gonna step up and do my part. And I understand not everyone has the means to. my prayers go out to those affected this year in East Tennessee.

Have you taken a look at the overall performances of our athletic department?

No, of course not

We are kicking ass in all 3 sports.

I’m just saying if we want to close the gap with OSU we need to give our team a similar level of resources and time to build a roster that can compete.

We played a team that outspent us by a fair bit and a program thats roster started at a much more talented place than ours which was gutted just a couple seasons ago.

We could also use some help from Ergen

I think its funny schools can't pay players. I'm prolly not gonna renew my season tickets. I've checked that box. But since they added the talent tax I feel I'm done with it. Asking fans to pay for these crap heads that already get 4 years debt free, don't have to stay at one place. I'm old so that stuff is for you all. Look I'm never donating to kids getting to play football by fans instead of the universities, so its not like they are losing my money. But ill watch on TV no problem.

This goes far beyond fans donating to NIL. Let’s not think avg Buckeye fan donates more money than UT. Maybe it’s a large donor? I don’t know. Their payroll is $22 million and I just read they landed two more studs in the portal. Maybe it’s the brand? Idk.

We need more talent! We need to land mostly 4* recruits and 2-3 5* recruits to beat the likes of: Ohio State, UGA, Oregon, and Texas.

Just my $.02.

I mean like it or not NIL is here. It’s a bit like the NFL like it or not and you don’t have NFL teams winning while spending 20-30% less than the best teams.

It’s changed the game for worse and for better but we have to be in the same realm financially to have success on the field. You get what you pay for and I get NIL isn’t for everyone. But it’s here even if I don’t always like it.

We are doing well in all 3 sports. Baseball is the only one we’ve kicked ass in

Please. Throwing money at it won't do a thing. We need better evals and development. Better coaching, too. As long as the current staff remains, you can flush money down the toilet and get similar results.

Tennessee had 15ish million in this roster. Its not like money hasnt been spent. Burning money isnt the solution.

At some point we've got to be able to get the big fish and get top 5-7 classes to really have a shot. We haven't had a single class like that since 2015. We get some elite players but not nearly enough.

I get some people will say I'm star-gazing but more often than not, they're a pretty good indicator of what your roster will be.

And I will do whatever I can to help. TN sports have been important to me since 1992. I want a championship in football and basketball. Yes, that’s a lot and every fan wants their school to win a natty.

I don’t understand why TN can’t get back to elite recruiting like the old days in the 90s. It’s early but we’ve been quiet in the portal. We need to land the USC wide receiver- pay him!!!

Why should we not question spyre sports like have you DYOR on them why do we blindly trust for profit companies with everything. I donated to some of the shittiest charities as a young kid before. Maybe they're great, ill pass. I'd rather go give $100 to a player in shots when I see them

They're a marketing agency with 3 reviews is all I know

I've seen crypto scams with 1 developer make a better website by the way they seem like mouth breathers. The 2 Cofounders look 20. They reek of a money laundering car wash company to me.
Edit: the past 10 minutes I've looked into them, they look pathetic. You guys can do the deeper digging if you want.

Stupid a$$ post!
How? Every team gets the snot beat out of it once in a while. If you don't want that to happen to your team, jump from team to team being a bandwagon fan while that team is dominant. Every Vol fan is upset over how this game turned out. If they aren't, then maybe they aren't really a fan. You take the lumps and support your team regardless of the outcome of the game.

What you are talking about takes millionaires and billionaires. Not extra money from fans.

As nice as it was to see all of the support, in retrospect, maybe the 30,000 fans that went to Columbus should have stayed in Knoxville and just given the money they would have spent on the trip toward NIL.
