The staff and everyone knew going in that this was going to be a hard and tight game. You had 2 weeks to prepare and had no "money play" or anything different to try and pick up a key 1st down like the 3rd and short towards the end?

The money play was that sweet 4th and 19 fake FG.....I mean the QB can't throw a 19 yard pass, but Palardy is expected to.

I guess you missed the kicker's jump pass:hi:

Ya' know the real problem IMO... we could only beat MAYBE 10 teams in NCAA when our "chosen" QB has a passer rating of 9.9 That's right 9.9 again ........ 9.9
I know, it's hard to believe. 9.9 QB rating on a SEC team.

I never thought I would say this, but Fulmer might get my support in two years.

Well said!!

Not only were the officiating horrible, but our QB play was by far the worst i've seen in a number of years. I've seen veteran players "choke". or make a poor decision, but at least with Worley we had the "threat" of a pass or a deep ball. But this Dobbs kid... Jesus christ. I could be wrong, and maybe Vandy is that good to make our offense look so bad. I think his avg. was 2.8 YPC or something close, and there were many times we had open, missed receivers. Over thrown, many underthrown, others not seen. Kids far from ready.

lololol. It truly was their "money play", wasn't it? Why else would they do that? They obviously wanted to make use of that play they'd been practicing all week.

Typically on a risky trick play like that you say "If it works he's a genius, if it doesn't he's an idiot". Even if that play had worked, you'd be scratching your head.

Like I said in another thread...If that was 4th and 5 and the same thing happens, I'm ok...upset still, but atleast I understand why you do it. On 4th and 19 I just don't get it at all...This isn't NFL Blitz.

This game should have never hinged on a fake FG or overruled spot. There is a significant talent gap between UT and Vandy. Jones played as if he had the weaker roster when he didn't. He played not to lose against VANDY. That used to be Fulmer's mistake against top tier teams especially UF... he wouldn't take the chances you have to take to win.

or at least be smart enough to have Marlin Lane in the game on the 3rd and short. Even Dooley was smart enough to use AJ Johnson on short yardage. We convert there our odds of winning the game go up tremendously. Everyone in the stadium knew exactly what was coming and Neal isn't a good short yardage back.

you have a great point. i was waiting to see aj on 3rd and 4th and 1 all year. having 2 weeks and laying an egg is proof for me.jones cant coach. or the staff cant.

to be fair vandy fumbles twice while going for scores. i think bj froze up. he had 0 confidence. where's the bj that cussed out the refs in the uga game and got a 15 yard penalty because he wanted it so bad?
