We started the season hanging big numbers on sub par teams and a bad NC state team,

We got to our SEC schedule and our production fell through the floor which wasn’t surprising.

I figured we’d come in and mop the floor with UTEP reminiscent of those early games, but it’s clear something has happened and this offense was at its peak in our first 3-4 games and has fell way off. Didn’t expect that.

I prefer to benchmark on realistic expectations, not our rivals.
What expectations? We are a 10-2 team that is having some growing pains with a young QB starting his first season. As I mentioned in another thread, Hooker created unrealistic expectations for anyone that follows him. He was basically a generational QB for us. You have to give Nico time to grow up before you expect the 2022 offense to reappear.

Yep, we’ve all seen it. And we’d better watch out for Vanderbilt…they could kick our butts.

Oh, please, brother. Nico has underperformed all year. We’ve all seen it. He has yet to meet his expectations and earn his NIL money. Not all his fault, of course…e.g. he only has a couple of receivers who can consistently separate and get open. That said, he’s our guy and we wish him great results and glory.

Since NIL is not tied to performance, he probably earned it on hype alone. Nico has performed ok this year, not bad not great.

Nico has had his fair share of misses, but the wide receivers have had a ton of drops too. Then O-line play in critical times has not been good.

Haven’t you heard? When a QB gets NIL, he is expected to throw it, catch it and do all of the blocking.

Something changed at halftime at Oklahoma. Haven’t been the same since. I’ve never seen anything like it.

one could possibly argue that Nico got hurt in the first half of that game and hasn't quite been the same since. I don't fully buy it, but....

Don’t act like Nico has been perfect. He missed two walk in touchdowns today in the first quarter. He has been average at absolute best since SEC play started.
He's a RS Freshman. What were your expectations? I think the offense is better than it was last year. But your handle says a lot about your mindset. No matter what happens, you won't be happy.

The opponents (and their quality) changed.
