I think it mainly says there aren't any good teams in the East; it's just going to be who's the least bad at season's end.
I'm not sure what to make of USCe/Vandy. Clearly South Carolina is still a mess that seems to switch back and fourth between signs of what was expected and a defense that has difficulty stopping anyone. They looked better last week against UGA, but now they look worse; who knows. Vanderbilt also showed a surprising amount of fight, so despite what we've seen so far...the Vandy we saw in weeks 1-3 could very well end up not the Vandy we see in some of these games later on.
I don't think the Arky St/USU really translates into too much.
Missouri's defense was bad, but IU at this point should be expected to score points, especially after last year (they averaged like 45 points a game a year ago?).
The pathetic part is that IU's defense is supposed to horrendous - before tonight they've given up at least 30 points in 8 straight FBS games (45 to Bowling Green, 36 to Purdue, 42 to OSU, 51 to Wisconsin, 35 to Illinois, 42 to Minnesota, 63 to Michigan, and 42 to Michigan State). The fact that Missouri's offense struggled against it and couldn't take advantage of how awful it is...is probably a poor sign for things to come. And that Missouri defense isn't going to win games with that offense scores in the mid-20s it seems. If this is the team that shows up the rest of the season, they just missed their chance to make a bowl game.
Florida seems about the same; that offense is going to greatly struggle.
