What if the players read this forum?

Yes they lost by a lot. To two top ten teams and UT is coming off the Dooley years. Fans like you want to be negative because they want an instant fix. Sure I would have liked to have gone undefeated this year. And there's not a game we went into that I didn't think we might could pull the upset but reality is, we are rebuilding. You constantly kick someone when they are down and it really plays with the mind. These are kids. Give them a chance to mature and learn under who I think is a master at getting the most out of his team. These kids aren't going to UT to make you happy, they are going to get an education and play the sport they love. Do you honestly think they like losing????? It's not going to be long that UT will be back on top, and you will be singing praises along with all the other negative posters.

I didn't say anything about the losses.

They are what they are.

You think the team won't feel bad for getting completely emasculated on the field in front of a national audience but they'll come onto an internet forum and will feel bad because of what some idiot fans are saying?

That's about the same as me, when I was in the military, questioning my service because of what some idiot with an art degree said.

However, that idiot with an Art degree is entitled to their opinion. I don't think good or bad about them voicing it... I just don't really care what an idiot with an art degree is saying.

I imagine the players that will get UT turned around probably feel the same way. There are a lot of negative voices talking about UT right now based on how we played against UGA/USC and then how we played against Bama/Mizzou. It is what it is.

If they get onto VN expecting flowers and sunshine and don't find it and get their feelings hurt... they're almost definitely in the wrong line of work.

I think in some cases an athlete can take comfort in the fact that their fanbase is not satisfied with the state of the program. However, that does not mean that some of the comments made about the program do not anger them. For instance, firing coaches after one season probably does not sit well with most of our players seeing that a lot of them have had to suffer relearning all sorts of schemes after a new coach is selected. Also, I think our players really enjoy having this staff.

I'm absolutely positive they do....as everyone needs a good laugh while taking a crap..I for one appreciate all the kids that choose to come to UT..sure they get discouraged & mad from losing as everyone does but remember there the ones making sacrifices while your sittin on our butts watching..

mostly, they laugh at the things fans say on these message boards. they read a lot of them for entertainment.. and get a lot of it.

have talked with them about it for years. they are amazed at the lack of understanding of how college football works..

That has never stopped blowing my mind. It's hard to understand how people are so passionate about something, yet so uninformed about it.

I wonder what they would think about the fans or how they would feel about the different things we talk about.

If they are tough enough to play Div. I football, they are tough enough to deal with ANYTHING that could be posted on this board.

I am sure they do. Although our coach just called the entire team soft. So whoever thinks that these kids may get on here and get their feelings hurt are idiots. These kids will blow what we say off. They aren't going to blow off getting called soft by their HC though. I hope they come out and play disciplined physically tough football this week. I can handle a loss. I cant handle getting blown off the field because of stupid mistakes.

Looks like they've blown it off the last couple of weeks

The last 2 games they have played like they are getting blown on the field. They are a bit soft afterward.

Not trying to blow smoke, but you are one of my favorite posters. I can tell for certain that you are NOT an uninformed poster. Kudos.

I bet I could make them laugh if I tried to explain how recruiting works with the numbers and all that jazz because I totally do not understand that voodoo.

Most of the college and NFL football players I have trained with typically hate the fans. Who can blame them --- the majority are stupid and bash the players until they make a good play. Fans are bipolar towards athletes.
