Just wondering what y'all thought. If Vandy had left the SEC before this season and Notre Dame had taken their place, how would the golden domers have fared playing Vandy's schedule? The one common opponent they had was Michigan and we know how they played against them.

The Irish would have lost at least three games, probably four.

I think that ND will always remain independent, if they ever go to a conference it would be the big ten and then they could have a big ten champ game.

ND will never join a conference.

They have exclusive TV rights with NBC, and don't have to worry about the 2 team limit placed on teams from BCS conferences.

So with their sorry/weak scheduling every year, they probably continue to finish in the top 16, in the BCS, and contend for a 14 Million dollar bowl appearance.

If they palyed Vandy's schedule, I think they would be 5 and 7, maybe 6-6.

They win for sure:
Tennessee ST
Temple
Duke

Lose to:
MI
AR
SC
GA
Fl
TN

Toss up:
AL
KY

Actually they played some tough teams. Michigan, Usc, Penn State, Ga Tech, Ucla which beat Usc.

I would argue that only Michigan and USC are "tough." The others are pretty good, but have been hot-and-cold all year. Not consistent enough to be "tough," IMO.

I'd pick Vanderbilt to beat GT this year.

I would too. Reggie Ball is so terrible.

Did you see his performance on GT's last possession?
If I remember correctly, he tried to go deep a couple of times, then ran out of bounds for about a 3-yard loss.
Really bad decision-making, especially in a game of that magnitude.
