Depends on who you ask...

True, true.

I am on the Let's see what the "There's always next year" wagon takes us.

For instance, smokedog3 has Louisville turning into the next USC.

I saw some of smokes posts. You're right, it depends on who you talk to, some say it's not that bad, others think the world is coming to an end.

Does that translate into Coach Cutcliffe/ headcoach the following season.

I honestly thought that Fulmer would semi-redeem himself by landing a great class but now I'm forced to reevaluate the current situation. It would seem that the off field issues, p*** poor season, and coaching turmoil, not to mention an obvious lack of talent development lately, has had an effect on Fulmers ability to get the big names this year. I know this horse has been thoroughly beaten but this is the first time I've really started to buy into the pesimism(sp).

Well, IMHO if top 10 recruiting classes haven't equalled top 10 finishes during the season hopefully non top 10 classes won't equall a non top 10 finish. In any event how many "top" prospects have won the Heisman? :dunno:

Boy, that would be something if Cut pulled a palace coup and replaced the "Big Boy" who could join Majors in a cry baby duo!! :biggrin2:

Hummmmm.

But for those that THINK Coach Cutt has a good ring. Consider this:

Just how far (beyond the built in Eli package) did CC go at Ole Miss?

Just how many top flight recruits did CC "pull in" this year?

Is he INNOVATIVE enough to CHANGE UT's stagnant offensive scheme?

These questions are very very important, especially at this juncture.

Tough to argue with any of that.

I wish this UT Team the ultimate.
I believe UT has enough talent to achieve the SEC Title.
I believe UT has a favorable schedule to become a National Player again.
I DO have doubts this Staff & leadership is progressive enough to achieve what our talent deserves.

Time & coaching will tell...

Never was a big fan of Cut when he was here but I'll wait and see how this plays out.

I do think that being a HC may have changed his outlook on coaching. I just think, and hope, it may have given him a different view of what he need to do to be successful.

well he really never had much of a chance at ole miss after eli cause he had that one bad year after eli left and then they fired him, thats pretty tough considering he was one of the winningest coaches at ole miss in a long time

and as for how many recruits did he pull in this year, that is not even fair. Recruiting starts way before he was hired and he did not have enough time to develop relations with anyone. Give it time, and wait to see what happens. This will be the first year that we start to see our top recruiting classes in action. Plus too much hype is placed on recruiting rankings, much like pre-season polls. They are both a joke to me.

I agree. Considering what he had to work with and recruiting was still not easy for him in the SEC, I'd say he did a damn good job there. Remember that part of the team is the Defensive side and Cut had to deal with building that side up as well at Ole Miss. You can walk into UF and keep it on top, but it's expecting a lot to walk into the Grove and make and keep Ole Miss a top program, especially with the competition around you.
