What is the gambling line on the refs calling greater than 15 fouls against us in the first half and greater than 30 in the game? The refs in the KY and Vandy games have really impacted the outcome. Does Pearl let the guys foul too much in practice, do they react too late, do the refs get incensed by the color orange or are the guys just not schooled in sneakiness like Vandy is?

Bad, I saw Vandy beat us then it snowed and was colder than Alaska. I hate this Global Warming. It gets any "warmer" and Tennessee will be a glacier. Good trip

Here is one for you from the Florida game. How about a intentional foul on Maclin for undercutting Chism on purpose in order to hurt him. I think the guy saw Chism jump and took advantage of his awkward situation and went for him!!!

I was screaming that same thing at the TV. It was an obvious and dangerous undercut and accomplished what he wanted. Chism never played the same. The ref-ing is much better in the Big East, ACC or NBA.

Prince will do great in the NBA because they will call blocking instead of charges on his penetration moves. And he will get hacking fouls, but he must learn to make all those foul shots to be a success.

If we are going to get 35 fouls a Game, we should make them really feel them!

You do realize that there aren't "SEC refs" in basketball like there are in football? For example, I've seen Teddy "douchebag" Valentine reffing lots and lots of ACC games.

How is that guy still allowed to work big games? Worst official in any sport in the US.

Why then do they call a crew at an interconference BB game "a sec crew" or "an ACC crew", Mr. Wizard?

For clarification, TV people do refer to them as crews sometimes (perhaps by default, because of football). Most officials have a set conference that they work in, most of the time due to geographical limitations. However, they can moonlight to other conferences. Here is a passage from an article that might prove helpful, even though its from Florida.

"But it's not uncommon to flip on the TV one night and see an official like Karl Hess working an SEC game and then flip it on the next night and see him at an ACC game. Ted Valentine has worked more than 70 games in a season in the past.

The officials are independent contractors who have no restrictions. Those who want the leagues to hire officials on a full-time basis aren't factoring in medical and retirement costs."

I guess the moniker Mr Wizard belongs to Mr H. Fanatic. So far the best information on "SEC or ACC basketball crews."

I think I will change my moniker to Henry VI.
