What other message boards are saying (Oklahoma Post Game Edition)

Some of these comments are so weird.

-Tennessee will lose 4 games this year. Not impressed.

Virtually all of the quant polls say Oklahoma is our 3rd toughest opponent, so I'm not exactly sure why he would expect us to drop 4? LOL. Isn't this a bit like the butt-hurt "YOU SUCK AT GAME!" and then you retort "but I beat you so you must be worse".

Tennessee is the luckiest team on the planet that we didn’t start Hawkins. We would’ve blown them out.
"Tennessee is lucky we didn't start a True Freshman QB"

Let's be honest, there was no pressure on Hawkins by the time he came in. Difficult to say how the game would've gone if he had started. We also were obviously just trying to run down the clock based on the assumption that Oklahoma couldn't score enough to catch up.

The refs obviously protected Tennessee tonight. Clear as day.
Another LOL. We had so many bad calls against us and they didn't even flag a 'body-slam' by one of their defenders well after the whistle as a late hit, but we slightly tap the QB and it's a 1st down for them.

I'm actually surprised by the amount of butt-hurt in these comments. Some people are happy for Heupel and are essentially saying "gg", but so many "TENNESSEE SUCKS!" comments. It's weird.

You gotta take the L and tip your cap when a road team beats you by double digits. Heupel took I don't his foot off the gas because he still respects his Alma mater. Good luck to Brent Venables moving forward but I don’t see it.
Now that that's out of the way, I don't anticipate him being as generous next year.

-This game was over midway through the 2nd quarter. Heupel knew it and ran the clock the rest of the game. It could have been really ugly.

-It's easy to win in Knoxville. OU Will do just that next season with an even better defense and a much improved offense.

-We could play Tennessee 10 times and not beat them. Completely dominant

-This is an all-timer “Score kinda close, but really a blowout” kinda game.

-Tennessee did not impress. After all I've heard, I expected a lot more than that.

-Tennessee will lose 4 games this year. Not impressed.

-Tennessee would have thrown the ball down the field more if they needed to…and I think they’d have had success doing so. So hard to say we’d have won, we’d have been more competitive. Tennessee would not have spent most of the 2nd half running the ball into a loaded defensive front.

-Not saying Tennessee isn’t a good team, but not nearly as impressive as what we were sold.

-34 yards rushing and 4 turnovers and lost by 10 to the best offense in the SEC.

-Great win for Josh.....happy for him after what happened here. Meritocracy always beats nepotism.

-We might have won this game if Hawkins was the starter. We will be ok moving forward.

-Hats off to Heupel for the good sportsmanship. Thought he’d run up the score. Glad I was wrong.

-Sooo… the ref with the Tennessee accent was reviewing everything?

-Defense did very well except for some downfield passes to Bru. Heupel knew he had the win so opted to not go for the total kill or at least that's what I think happened in the 2nd half. Hawkins shows to be the next direction.

‘It’s easy to win in Knoxville’ Hunh? These Oklahoma fans have much to learn, welcome to the SEC! 😂 They will soon learn, no game is guaranteed LMAO

“Tennessee accent” 😂😂😂
What a bunch of clowns
Well, there are three of them 😂.. Oklahomans sound like midwesterners so I think anything would sound weird to them (but our accents are similar to Texas accents, which we know they’ve heard before) 😂.. but that was really a stretch, the refs were helping them out the entire game lol

You can thank Butch Jones for that. He could have put OU away by going for it on 4th and inches and instead took the field gold. Result, we lost in OT. And they thought it was easy. Honestly, until the last Bama Game, that was the loudest I've ever heard Neyland.

I do wonder when OU decided to play Hawkins if it became a mutual understanding that Heupel would lay off on the offensive side but let the Defense keep doing their thing

If OU had started Hawkins they would have had to have Pampers in their equipment budget. We were playing 2nd and 3rd stringers on his drives.

Venables post game interview mentioned Tennessee 2 times maybe 3
Venables did not take the loss well but blames it more on his players in a way compliments them.
I think he realizes the SEC is a different type game of football and is trying to submissely introduce this to the fan base.
He knows OU is not up to SEC standards, but the fans are the ones with the reality check coming.
He did call it bad football on OK part.
"Tennessee is really good and we are going to play some good football teams" IOW get ready for some losses.
More about individual players mistakes, not about team as much. No coaching mistakes mentioned.

He’s a short timer….

The Ref protected Oklahoma the hold game never called and offensive holding on them the whole game.
Impossible with the DL we have. No way an o line plays against our DL and doesn’t have a holding penalty the whole game. Sec refs are absolutely terrible and that never changes. The conference has enough money to hire train and pay full time officials. Grade them on their performance. Keep the good ones and get rid of the bad.

Counting the loss to us. I see four total. Texas, Ol Miss, Alabama. Maybe a coin flip LSU game.

I will definitely be rooting for them against the first three though.
Ole Miss/LSU maybe a wins but their offense has to get it going. Otherwise, they will lose all 4 games.

Young and stupid fans on some of those. Most OU fans I’ve seen knew they were overmatched in that game and Heupel called the dogs off.
