With whats remaining only home games are against an improving Arkansas team, A Georgia team thats size bothered us in Athens, a Kentucky team thats extremely talented. Our road games left are Kentucky at Rupp is monumental in their down years with this talent its a MONSTER. South Carolina and Florida play good at home. And Mississippi St is always a tough out at the HUMP and with them fighting to make tourney Varnado will be fierce. Is it possible we could stumble down the stretch to the point of falling out of the tournament like Clemson did a few years ago when they started 17-0. We all know the NCAA selection committee puts a lot of importance on what happens down the stretch. out of all those games I see us going 3-4 whch should keep us in tournament fairly easily but will drop us to about a 6 or 7 seed. what are your guys thoughts?

NO! Tennessee fans overeat to one loss or one win more than any fan base in the country.

Given my vast collection of basketball wisdom gathered from reading many posts on this board I would say that we lose every single game and get pushed out to the NIT. Then Bruce Pearl has a losing season next year and gets fired.

I don't see how anyone could have confidence in our remaining schedule when the team has proven it can absolutely check out and get rolled on any given night.

I love the Vols and want them to finally do something, but come on.

Were you one of the people predicting a NC after the Kansas win?

We just lost a road game at Vandy to a solid team. RELAX! We are not a national championship team, but we are not an NIT team either.

We play much better at home.

But, the reason your thread will garner attention is because you mentioned us missing the tournament,

And although you for got the question mark, this was also a question you asked,

"is it possible we could stumble down the stretch to the point of falling out of the tournament like Clemson did a few years ago when they started 17-0."

To which I responded NO!

Can you imagine this team winning an NC?

Well neither can I, but think about it. That would be 10x better than Crompton silencing his haters this year.

But it's not going to happen. I'm not going to make a prediction about how this team finishes because they're inconsistent. We show up against Kansas, have double-digit blowouts at home, and then lose by double digits to terrible teams. We're as likely to be one and done as we are to make it to the Sweet 16 or later, regardless of seeding.

The way they played tonight they will be lucky to make the big dance or get out of the 1st round. This team has not been the same since Goins and Tatum came back. And STEVEN PEARL should never see playing time again..... He is AWFUL.....

I think tatum has helped team in return. Goins best game was tonight but generally hs offense is non existant. I understand the chemistry has been altered which I assume is what you meant about team not being the same. I applaud you for realizing it is getting to a dangerous part of our schedule for us to play terrible.

We're looking like a 6. Coming into tonight's game, I think we had the resume of a potential 4, but with such a tough stretch coming up, we gotta win some big games if we want any better than a 6 seed.

so far my guess seems to be on pace with most of you a 6. Which isnt the end of the world but also if seeding holds up would suggest 2nd round exit to a 3.

No, I was surprised by it, enjoyed it and knew it was just one game.

The original post said we would end 3-4, and that's entirely possible. They've constantly played badly on the road and all those teams really want to beat them. Add Kentucky probably winning both match ups and that makes sense.

At the same time I realize Tennessee has the talent to win all the games, but I doubt this team can play a really long stretch of strong, focused basketball.

Thank you I want to win em all like all of you but common sense comes into play. We are getting to the beast of our schedule and we have got ourselves in a bad spot.

I'd say we win the majority of our games left and do ok in the SEC tourney. We end up a five seed. Win one game in NCAA, then bow out to a four seed, probably in a blowout.

entirely feasible. by majority of games you mean 4-3 plus SEC tourney?
