This game is not just another game on the schedule. The hate I feel in my heart for the Alabama Crimson Tide isn't like
any other hate I have ever felt for anyone/anything else this is a special hate saved only for them. Its hard to say I Hate
Alabama's players its not those young men I hate its the Alabama fans the know it all arrogant stupid inbred Alabama fans
Who to them Bear Bryant still lives and breaths I mean my god the man has been dead for 20 some odd years
GET OVER IT!!! You don't see Tennessee fans saying what would Gen. Robert Neyland do??
ok some back ground.
my hate runs so deep its pathetic it really is I was snatched up out of Gods Country Harriman Tennessee when I was
10 years old so that my father could find work in the steel mills of Birmingham Alabama this was about 1985 the last time
Tennessee beat Alabama until 1995 I grew up in Alabama hating The Crimson Tide cause it seemed that Tennessee would
outplay Alabama every year but still come up short on the scoreboard. I would have to go to school the next Monday
and listen to how Tennessee got blown out and how Bama had 12 national titles and how Tennessee's tradition sucked
as well as their coaches as well as how Bama was the best team to ever play the game of football. And who can forget
what's a big orange for to suck line that I heard over and over again. so needless to say that left me just a tad bit bitter toward
Alabama and their so called "fans" well we would lose year after year after year then Bama tied us in 1993 I think. Well
I had no right to talk smack because Tennessee still sucked to these inbred Bryant disciples. then came Peyton Manning
and you could see the fear in all of their eyes in 1995 in Legion Field when on the first play of the game 80 yards Manning to
Kent for a Tennessee touchdown. We all know how that game came out...lol Well I would try to talk smack to the Bama fans
giving them what they had gave me for 10 YEARS!! all they wanted to do was fight it was pathetic. Well it was easier being a
Tennessee fan in Alabama from 95-02 when they finally won one. Now the rivalry is finally back to where its supposed to be.
But truth be told we could beat Alabama year in year out and the hate would still be there. But like anything else it goes around
in circles so now I'm 31 years old working in a Birmingham steel mill like my dad. Bama fans still talk so much crap its not to be believed and yes
Bear Bryant is still alive and he's calling all the plays for Alabama this year...lol

A funny side note a friend of mine that really doesn't care about football one way or the other went to a Alabama football
game last year and at halftime they honored Bear Bryant the announcer was calling out all the great things Bryant had done
over the years and my buddy not knowing who Bear Bryant was said that the way the crowd reacted he stood up and was looking for
this great man that the crowd held in such high esteem.....lmao when I told him that he had been dead for 20 odd years
he said and this is the best part "the way the crowd was yelling you would have thought he was out on the field"....lmao!!!!

So this Saturday morning when I wake up and make the drive from Birmingham to Neyland Stadium I'm sure that all the memories from
years past will flood my mind and the reality that its the Third Saturday In October will set in when I hear
"IT'S FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!!!!!"
GO VOLS!!!!!!

Well said and so so true. They can have losing season after losing season and still, they gotta talk smack. I don't rub it in on them when we beat them and would hope for the same but it's never the case. Common sense says don't talk smack when you get beat... but like I said, COMMON SENSE......All I can hope is that we beat them and that we beat them bad.

The sad thing is, oppposing fans bring up Bear Bryant just as much as we do. If the whole Bryant lovefest "doesn't bother you", as many in the enemy camps say, then why talk about it 24/7?

Good to see you stayed in B'Ham though. I would have too!:)

If you have a friend who didn't know who Bear Bryant was, you need a brighter group of associates.

I saw my first UT/Bama game in 1984. The next year I began my freshman year at UT, and enjoyed our last defeat of Bama for the next nine years. No matter how well we played, losing to Bama was the worst feeling ever. My friends give me a hard time about losing to the Gators, but I will take that loss everytime as long as we beat Bama. No matter how either team is doing, you know that both teams know the game is special and will leave everything they have on the field. A lot of people have been talking smack before the game and I hope it doesn't come back to bite us on the ass. That being said GO VOLS! I hope we murderize 'em!

As much as I hate Bama, I have to say that if something happened and we did not play them each year, UT football would just not be the same for me. This is the game I look forward to each year.

This game defines Tennessee's season for me. A win this week end and any wins the rest of the year is just gravy!

Bama owned Knoxville in the eighties....how many straight did they take the vols to the woodshed?
The reason you hate Bama is they have been so good for so long and are the standard all other SEC schools compare themselves to.
Don't you wish Tenn had someone like Bear in their history to admire?

If you had posted that 15 years ago, it might have seemed more like quality trash talk.
