Guys I've watched alot of football over the years and seen my share of bone headed stupid plays. But spinning the ball in the middle of the field from a junior who knows better takes the cake. That was just plain stupid. I know emotions get the better of you I've been there and done that but that was on national television and even the announcer was shocked. Selfish is the only way to describe what he did.

Kind of like J Smith spiking the ball in the end zone after his touchdown vs auburn.
JS should have known better also but it trips me out that AJ didn't learn anything from that on Smith. AJ knew better and didn't learn a thing which leads me to label him as selfish. It's the only word that comes to mind.

I don't understand the rule. AJ didn't draw attention to himself, he didn't taunt, he didn't rub it in anyone's face. How is spinning a ball any different than jumping up and down waving your arms in celebration? It's a judgment call and a stupid rule, IMO.

This team has completely lost all sense of discipline the second half of the season and that is on no one but the coaches.

Johnson acted like a d-mn idiot all night and could have probably gotten a couple of taunting calls against him too.

He should have been jerked from the game for a few series after spinning the ball.

The sooner the upperclassmen are gone from the program the quicker the turnaround.... assuming that Butch improves dramatically as an SEC coach. Just the way it is.

The way he was acting you would have thought he was a superstar. Everytime the D made a play he did his pose like he was a first rounder. You're right they're undisciplined.

Well you can't tackle unless you grab a waist .... can't run into anyone with force .... can't plow quarterbacks and wide receivers .... can't celebrate ... football just isn't any fun anymore ..... dang .... What are we to do?

Seriously we should not penalize kids for having emotion. It is an emotional game and these are still ... kids. Save the no emotion crap for the No Fun League.

Show me video prior to AJ where a defensive player spun the ball in the middle of the field and not have a penalty. You won't find one because players have enough sense not to do it. Except AJ. That was a penalty this year, last year, the year before that, the year before that and so on and so on. But AJ Johnson somehow thinks he can do it.

I'm tired of seeing nothing but the back of his corn rolls flopping while he chases someone. I hope he leaves too. He is way too slow for SEC ball. He is playing out of position IMO. I would sit every senior against KY and any JR. thinking they might go pro. That senior offensive line is nauseating.

It was a typical AJ moment. If he practiced technique as much as he practiced his celebrations he would be a superstar.

A comment this ignorant is one thing, but the fact someone liked it is even more terrifying.

He actually had a really good game last night. He had 13 tackles. I have no problem at all with swagger. The whole team could use some.

If Johnson and the rest of this defense would learn to wrap up instead of arm tackling, he would have probably gotten 17-18 tackles last night.

Whoever said he needs to work on his technique is right.

And I don't mind some swagger and confidence and celebrating big plays but he can't make a spectacle of himself like he did.

I prefer to see guys act like they have made a tackle before personally though. It wasn't like he scored a td, got a sack, recovered a fumble or made any type of real splash play.

This defensive staff coaches too scared to put their players in position for that.

The damn shame here is that spinning a football gets you a penalty

HE MADE THE FOOTBALL SPIN ON THE FIELD!

Seriously, let that sink in.

But it's "taunting". Bunch of *******. This sport is turning into a joke. Heaven forbid someone get their poor feelings hurt from someone SPINNING A FOOTBALL. Grow up.

My last post was directed towards the NCAA Rules Commitee before anybody on here throws a hissy fit thinking I directed it at them.

Being pissed about the rules or enforcement is fair game. Some of it is silly.

But knowing it's silly and difficult to predict is a good reason not to test the limit and cost your team.
