What was your first inkling that Heupel might finally be THE GUY?

mine

Coming into 2021, I looked around the SEC East, and figured that we could beat Vandy. Figured we would lose to uga and UF, and that UK would be a tough win. Thus our "peers" coming into 2021 IMO were USC and MIzzou. I called it the "race to escape the cellar", and was hoping we could finish 3rd or 4th. Those were my expectations.

As it turned out, we ended up leading not one, but BOTH those teams 28-0 after a single quarter. I believe we played Mizzou second. I had thought maybe USC was a fluke, but when it happened a second time, I'm like, maybe this guy is for real!

Think about it...the teams I viewed preseason as our 'peers', were both down by FOUR TDs in a single quarter.

Don't get me wrong, I have BVS like everyone else, but at that point my expectations went up a notch for sure. I thought he would at least be better than any of the ass clowns since Kiffin left us in the lurch and had a lot of upside.

I would be lying if I said I saw THIS season coming (in a corner of my mind I hoped, but had no real expecatations). I thought we were headed for an 8-4/9-3 type season.

But...yeah, going up by 4 TDs in a single quarter in games I thought were coin tosses...I was impressed! :p

I knew the offense would be good but was waiting to see how our D line and short yardage O line looked. And we’ll….. BE BEAT BAMA!!!!!!!

I knew he was the guy when I saw how last year's team bought into what he and his staff were cooking. He is a player's coach. The players love him and he loves them. They would run through a burning building for him. Then,
factor in he has the best Offensive mind in NCAA football today and we have our guy. While all the low points in the last 15 years have been tough, they were worth it to have Coach Heupel as our HC. We need to throw a bank vault full of money at him to make sure he doesn't go anywhere. Teams will come calling at the end of this season. We need to lock the door before they get here.

IDK when I first had the thought, but last year when it was clear our WR's were always getting open as a product of the system, I was thinking he could be special. I still had doubts about things beyond X's and O's, but as far as scheming goes, I was pretty sure we had found our Spurrier.

The weeks after he Started Hooker over Milton. Felt CJH was not going to wait it out and had to make the move and was not afraid to make a change. Helped me see that we had a Coach and wasn't another hard headed Pruitt sticking with JG. The politics of Football is gone at UT hopefully.

Danny White was the best hire at the right time for this program. Things are turning in all things Athletics thanks to him.

Last year for me. When we started winning games we doubted with a decimated roster. CJH just gets it. Gets players to live up to potential.

Wonder what all the kids that transferred to OK are thinking about right now.
