What we painfully learned again from Last Night's Games....

OU's QB is named the Belldozer for his running ability.

What I learned is speed on defense and tackling ability is critical to stop these offenses. All of which are traits of the good SEC teams Tennessee has to beat.

While flipping back and forth between games last night I noticed the biggest glaring thing was being able to run the ball and eating up clock. Stanford dominated TOP and kept the Ducks offense off the field. Their RB had 45 carries not to mention they out rushed the Ducks. For any school out there that wants to know how to beat them. GET THE STANFORD GAME FILM. It was was something to see no doubt about it.

McCarron for Bama stays in the pocket and wins National Championships

most every year, and the best running game--or close to it--then you can get away without having a mobile QB. Everybody else? No. I've been saying for years that we've been at a disadvantage because our QBs can't run. Any halfway athletic QB can scramble for 3-10 yards on third down all day. See Tebow. We lost the 2001 SEC title game--when we have a national championship caliber team--to a backup QB for LSU who mostly ran for first downs, as I recall. You have to have it--mobility. It's hard to stop running QBs--ask the teams that play TA&M--the only team to beat bama recently.

For some reason the "Belldozer" nickname just irks me. I really don't know why. I watched the OU - Texas Tech game and the announcers just seemed to love it a little too much.
