Our defense played a great game.
They kept Vandy under their average points.
Pushed them off their 3rd down conversion %, and forced punts.
Vandy should have scored 31 - 38 points on UT based on how they have done this season.
I am proud of they way they stepped up.
I am happy with the Defense.
There was a little progression from special teams unit.

There are still things to work on, its these times when our players and coaches need our support the most.
We all understand wins matter.
We have a head coach who gives a damn, about the kids, the team, and the school.
The players are building that pride, they will get there.
Would you rather CBJ pull a Kiff and cut them before he had a chance to evaluate them and test them, and find out if they are truely willing to give their all for UT?
I for 1 see the difference in the process as progress.
Even if you fall into the camp that wants to bench the unproductive, and the players that are not willing or able to play team ball, who is there behind them. No one, there is no depth, there is no magic choice that would have fixed things this year.
Hope springs eternal, I sure was hopeful that CBJ could turn it around faster.
Many people tried to temper expectations, but Hope, and Pride would not allow it.
Hope is fine, Pride without hope will only lead to a further fall.
I was right there with everyone else thinking we were looking at an 8 win season.
The prideful fan thinks we can't loose to Vandy, or UK.
I am all for players playing with confidence. I am all for fans showing confidence.
Have we not learned humility over the last 5 years.
Have some Hope, have some humility, and have some patience.
Everyone who says THIS IS TENNESSEE, is showing pride. Anyone who claims to be better than the situation we are in is PRIDEFUL.
If all you have is anger and blame, then you have to much pride.
Obviously UT can be beaten by Vandy. There is not a team in college that is not able to beat UT. There is not a team in college that UT is not able to beat.
I do not think UT fans deserve to have the team we want, if we cannot support the team we have.
That's all I have to say about that.

I have a hard time saying a defense played a great game when they gave up a game-winning 90 yard drive after they have Vandy 3rd and 7 on their 10. But you make some fair points.

Before Sat, Vandy was Avg 378 yards total offense.
That puts their point spread between 31, and 38 points
They were avg 139 rushing yards, and 237 passing yards.
We held them to 90 rushing yards, and under 200 passing yards.
Tennessee did well on defense.

Our offense on the otherhand, under preformed. They showed regression.
That regression was in large part due to the loss of North.
We only put up 53 passing yards, and average 172.
Our OL did perfectly adequate job, and helped our run game to 184 yards, which is right at our normal rushing avg. The OL lost prevent on some pass protection formations. That was due to Vandy D throwing LB at our weaknesses. It did cost them in personnel as they were tired, and made mistakes that got them hurt, or ejected. It was also due to passing plays taking longer to open up with only 1 viable target.
This loss to Vandy was not bad coaching, it was bad luck of a key player going out, and having no one available to go out there and take those yards.
Had North not went out, we would have likely hit our avg pass yards 172. We would have likely surpassed it based on Vandys passing yards allowed stats. We could have hadclose to 200 yards passing. We left those 150 passing yards on the field, because we had no one behind North to help Croom go get them.
When North went down, I though.. there went the game.
I hoped I was wrong, and thought I was based on the way our D was playing.
Its all a matter of perspective.
Based on the avgs, and what happend, I think we did good.
Not great, but not the devastating results some are claiming.
It happened, learn from it. Move on. Snap and Clear.
If you dwell on losses, you are a looser.

Im going to leave one final post before the Holiday.
I am Thankful that we have a Team that most everyone in TN loves.
I am Thankful that we have a coach that supports the team and fans.
I am thankful for fellow fans, even the nega fans.
In the end I know they are only wanting to see a team they can be proud of.
I am Thankful that every team that plays TN puts the best out there.
I am Thankful we get to play the best teams in the country.
I am Thankful that going through what we have this year WILL make us better.
I am Thankful for Hope, without which we could never rise above Pride.
I am Thankful for God, for giving these young men the ability to play.
Thank you everyone who read my lengthy posts.
Happy Thanksgiving y'all, and GBO
