I am hoping wishing praying we get Gruden, I like him for multiple reasons....but when it's not him the only names being mentioned are WAY down the list.....I'm just wondering if we're talking about these crazy Gruden offer numbers what else could we hire?

Let's just pretend for a moment Jon Gruden is not a sure thing...:ermm:

Heck for the kind of money being discussed what other employed coaches would consider it? Jimbo Fisher hell no...but if you could get Jeff Fisher? Jim Caldwell might certainly like a HC shot again....for less... Maybe crazy to consider maybe not....but Bill Belichick is from Tennessee.....not a bad retirement job...(though not sure he'd be motivated even if it could happen) WHat about Jim Haslett? is he happy being an assistant after tasting the HC position? I'm just saying among coaches mentioned Gruden is above them all easily.....but if we're going to start talking these record breaking numbers how many other champion coaches might start to tap their foot to Rocky Top?

What would be some alternatives in that level to consider? and why?

Spend the 60 mil on lottery tickets, win the powerball, get Bill Cowher for like 100 mil. BOOM.

for 58 mil maybe he'd talk to us now.......

or how about Andy Reid....? he had bad run lately but he's solid.....and we got plenty of coaching gear in his size still...

Belichick is not really from Tennessee. Yes, he was born in Nashville in 1952 (father coached at Vandy), but moved to North Carolina within a year. Pretty safe bet that he does not even remember his time in Tennessee. He actually grew up in Annapolis Maryland, prepped in Massachusetts and went to college in Connecticut. Sorry, but a more accurate description is that he's a mid-Atlantic guy that went to school in New England, with a less than vague memory of Tennessee.

Eh I had heard he was from Nashville once so I rolled with it, he's past the prime of aggressiveness anyway, just saying if we're talking about all this money, there's alot of star power out there that pays attention to these sorts of numbers.

This alone will get some moron to post "VFL" when referring to Belichick.

Maybe not 50-60 mil but why not take the figures that have been talked about with Gruden and talk to another proven top notch coach? Employed or not.
