I, for one, would like to see one in Basketball. I feel we are becoming a Basketball school. Football is still what people think of when they hear Tennessee. But seriously what are we becoming here and what would you rather win? :good!:

I guess all the final fours we been to lately trump anything the football program could ever fathom doing.

Basketball has been the hip thing here lately, but there is no comparison to having bragging rights over the toothless

Is this even a real question? Would you rather have ribeye or filet? Drew Barrymore or Eva Mendes? One is nice the other is so much better. We have one of the biggest football stadiums, some of the greatest traditions in the best football conference. Our life depends on winning that crystal football.

This thread is new. Answer will ALWAYS be football for me, and we will NEVER be a basketball school. Look how many more UK fans are at the game right now. We haven't even been to an Elite 8 under Pearl, and all of sudden we are becoming a basketball school?

It would be great to get one in a sport where we've never got one, but I simply care about football more.

Football. Most of my friends don't even care about basketball, so the bragging rights associated with that wouldn't help me very much.

The real question should be would you rather win back-to-back national titles in basketball or win a national title in football (undefeated of course)?

That might get some closer results.

I'll take B2B NCs in either sport over an undefeated NC in either sport.

It's still a toss-up to me. Either would be great, but I think I would still lean toward a football title.

Now if one of those b2b bball titles came with an undefeated season then I might reconsider.

Football by far. I'm happy for the Vol B-ball team that we have reached a higher level of play over recent years, but football is where my heart is at.

I can understand that.

Bottom line is B2B NCs in hoops didn't change UF's status as a football school.

Football will always matter more....but those hoops titles were pretty special.

I hope we can get one in both and would love to see us win the world series in baseball. I truly believe Tennessee should be able to win in all three sports.

This is the South, the SEC. We are a football conference (except Kentucky, let them be the reps in BB).

I doubt we will ever be any better in BB than we are now, it just is not in the cards.

We will be back in football someday, the question is when?

One must take their hats off the the phenominal success the Gators have had in FB and BB over the last 10 years, it is really incredible.

That speaks to the mediocrity of the football program. Basketball has done far more than football in my time at UT and it still hasn't broken through to the next level in the tournament.
