They played 3 bad teams.

They played 7 REALLY good teams (all ranked top 15ish).

The only similiar middle of the road team that is on their schedule (when they play them) is Vandy who they haven't played obviously. That's it. They didn't draw Miss St, Ole Miss, a BYU or another NC ST or UNC. They haven't played teams on their level. They either suck or are really good. Yes, UGAly and UF were spiraling down but were still good. According to most people, W-L is what matters not "moral victories". So if that is the case, UT has overachieved this far by beating one of those good teams.

I can't speculate that they would have beaten those "decent" teams nor that they will beat Vandy, but the fact we must remember is that while we still have concerns about this coaching staff, we must have an even playing field to see what they can do. Dools had a shot at Mizzu, Vandy, UK and UNC and the only decent team remember him beating is NC ST. He showed how much he sucked in those games. Jones hasn't had those games yet they have been against great teams where the competition level just isn't there. Twice he's got them up for good teams (you could even argue Florida had not been for the experiment fail). There's still a good shot at a bowl.

You're right. They should beat these really good teams. Beating SCjr wasn't enough they should coach this bad team left by a bad coach to win them all. Shame on them.

It's really pretty simple. We are tired of getting blown out of the stadium by good teams. Until we are competitive against these teams, we are not going to be happy, nor should we be. We have pride. We are Tennessee.

Yes, so let's whine about it everyday. We should look forward to a great recruiting class and the hope that things will get better.

Is that what being a fan is? I can recall multiple rough seasons with several teams I follow. Was I upset about them being so bad? Yes. Did I carry on like a toddler who didn't get what they wanted? No.

That's fine. But my gosh do we live in a "please me now" world these days expecting miracles lol. I'm just about to quit Volnation for quitting on this team for claiming the team constantly quits (apparently losing big means you quit: guess LSU quittonight too).

Well go to sleep and wake up in two years then it should be alright

Not a chance of sleeping it off. I see more wins like Carolina next season. However, any time we get blown out like today, expect all aspects of the program to be criticized.

Seriously, it is more about returning the program to greatness and not accepting mediocrity. How to get there is debatable.

Getting there has nothing to do with this message board. I consider how you handle yourself after a loss a more personal reflection.

Maybe you could start following soccer? I here there are a few teams in South America where the fans battle each other with canes after each game.

Not sure why folks dont get it . The defense has little or no depth on the front . They can play about 1 1/2 quarters of football with this level of rotation . We have a freshman secondary .
-
We have a freshman QB ...who has a ton of potential but is inconsistent.
-
These things will improve ...but it will take time and recruiting .
-
If you expected something more than 5 or 6 wins ...if you expect this team to hang with top 10 teams ...you are delusional.

Its not about winning every game, its about looking like we belong on the same field. Yesterday was pathetic and the coaches have to take some of the blame. No doubt we are lacking in talent and speed but as players they can damn sure get in the same neighborhood as the other teams RB's and they dont even do that about half the time. When the announcers are doing everything they can to just not laugh out loud at the way your playing, somethings gotta give.
