I heard on ESPN today that 3 of ND's biggest recruits have backed off and said that they are opening there options since Weiss is pretty much all but done. One was a quarterback. Anyone have information on who he is and if we have a chance of landing them?

I'm no recruiting guru but I'm pretty sure the guys who know these things will have a hard time pontificating with no names or information to go with your claims. Just sayin.

I'm assuming the recruiting guru's would already know about the information and could answer the question. I'm also assuming ND doesn't have that many quarterbacks that are committed.

those are some good assumptions. I cruised by a couple recruit's thread's that have commited to ND to check it out for you. I've seen rumblings on Hendrix's board most say Rees is the #1 guy and is listening. Some say he's solid to ND not Weis and one guy says Hendrix is our main target but he got flamed pretty quickly for it. So in summation...there is some live smoke over these guys. Watch Chris Martin as well.

Tommy Rees is another one. I'm thinking that name sounds more familiar. I will have to see if I can find a link to what I heard. It was on ESPN Radio this morning when coming into work. Let me see what I can dig up.

posted in the Rees thread. This is Rees talking in the article.

“In my mind, nothing has changed,” Rees responded when asked about the possibility of a coaching change at Notre Dame. “Just because of a couple loses, I’m not going to de-commit. I committed to Notre Dame for a reason and I’m holding to it right now.

“If something did happen, I’d still be committed to Notre Dame.”

“I talked to coach Ianello and coach Weis about it,” Rees explained. “I’m doing everything to prepare to come in early, so that I’d have all the requirements taken care of for school. I still haven’t decided, but I’m just trying to get all those things done, because it is a possibility. I haven’t set a date (to decided), but it would obviously have to be made before the deadline. I’d have to decide before January 10

I would like another QB as long as he was an EE. The more competition in spring would be good for all and hopefully bring out the team leader. GO VOLS

I'd rather take a high schooler and redshirt one.

Normally I would agree, but we have Bray coming in and there is supposed to be some crazy QB talent coming out in the 2011 class. IMO I say get a JUCO to start next year, redshirt Tyler if he doesnt put anymore size on and then get the top QB in the 2011 class!

I don't see anything about it on ESPN. Weird....I'll keep checking and see if I can figure out which 3 they were talking about.

ESPN News reporting that 3 recruits (Rees included) are waiting to see if Weis is canned. They sourced the Chicago Tribune.

Someone posted this in the Rees thread. I will check and see if I can find the article.

I should have quoted it. Now I look like an idiot... On topic: I think the chances of us landing some of their recruits is great.
Do you have any ideas of anyone we would be looking at other than that QB? Sorry about the first part of the post. You know sooner or later I may get the hang of this posting stuff but for now if you look at most of my post you will see they have been edited.

People have been talking about C.Martin who is a DE. Rated a 5*. I'm not sure of any other except a LB I think we were recruiting Shembo I think. He was suppose to be rated pretty high and had good size.
