Rob Lewis of VQ was saying the other day that the longer the decision took, and the more trips Moses took the harder it might be for us. I would think that an earlier decision bodes well for us. Hard to say.

I hate that Selby's name has been brought up again, Its painful to think what could be. I dont want to get my hopes up.

He's reclassifying to 2011 I believe someone mentioned so even if we get him he wouldn't be helping next year.

We're going to need help every year. I don't see how his visit could have been any better. I hope we can get him.

yeah, even though hes classifying for 2011, he will be on campus early. still, the longer it takes, the shakier things get, i think.

The guy that keeps up with basketball recruiting from Rivals said the other day on Rivals raido on Bill King show that Moses was leaning toward Georgetown and Shelbys mom wants him to go to Kansas. I hope we still can get both,

He is not reclassifying to 2011. He was originally going to wait until 2011 when he came over to the states, but his advisors and host family felt that he adjusted so well and so quickly, in basketball, socially and academically that they went ahead and classified as 2010.

This is why you don't see him currently ranked in the 2010 top 150. He also has taken "official" visits, which to my understanding can only be taken by seniors or rising seniors who have finished their junior years of high school. His recent visit to Tennessee was an official visit.

Look for him to be ranked in the top 40 or so when the end-of-year rankings come out by Rivals.

This is all my understanding from some research I have done on the guy. The classification issue is a misunderstanding, and if anything, he is reclassifying forward a year rather than backward, if you can call it that. It is similar to a not-terribly uncommon situation where a high school junior has enough credits to enroll at the college of his choice after his junior year.

ZagsBlog.com – Moses Abraham to Decide Soon

Abraham is in the Class of 2011 but will go to school in the fall of 2010 after picking a school in two weeks

whatever that means..........

Abraham is down to TN and Georgetown mainly.

But Kentucky has made a late offer. But he hasn't visited Lexington or Bloomington so that is why most believe it is Vols-Hoyas race to lose.

Hopefully, Moses doesn't have any problems with the burning bush.

Heard that Keith Easterwood said that Selby's mom and WWW had a little bit of a rift when she started like Kansas and he was still pushing KY hard and it caused some problems. From other things I've heard, Selby himself really likes UT but WWW got to his mom last July and then it was over. Unless things really really change, Selby will be at UK regardless of what Brandon Knight does.

Weekly whispers from Jerry Meyer had Abraham's coach saying that he may surprise him with his choice.

That's what I recall about Selby, too. A shame that he doesn't have a say where HE goes to school. That would be some point guard talent if both go to KY. I can't see that happening though.

If Abraham does not pick UT, are there any other possibilities out there for a JR. College big man, or do we just hold our scholarships for 2011? Harris will be great at forward, but I have my concerns with only Williams and Hall at center next year. Wayne will be sorely missed.

Abraham is in the 2011 class now anyhow, so it doesn't matter, as far as him helping anyone next year.

I took this to mean, and from what I have read elsewhere about it, that he was originally in the class of 2011, but due to his quick adjustment, was going to go ahead and enroll in 2010 and be immediately eligible.

This would explain, along with his being new to the states, why he was never ranked in the top 150. The fact is though, that unless you have taken a standardized test and you are at least a rising senior who has completed your junior year, you cannot take OFFICIAL visits. His visit to Tennessee was an official visit, was it not? :hmm:

i think that is overstating it a little bit. yes, wayne will be missed, but brian and kenny are really our only centers this year. lately, there haven't been many occaisons that one of them haven't been on the floor. for a few minutes yesterday pearl played a small rotation where chism was down in the block.

as long as williams and hall improve some over the summer, and with the addition of harris, our frontcourt should be fine next year.
