what does everyone think?? Is the qb position open to anyone? and what about the rest of this offense? the WR and the Tightends? Who will start under him ? i mean he has got to watch all this from our standpoint and got to see it just like us. And does everyone feel like he kinda helps us on recruiting. I think he does for sure if we want another qb i mean who doesnt want to be taught by the same coach that taught the mannings!!!! give me your thoughts!!!!!!!!!!!!!! k:

Amen brother, I think coach Cut will be just what this team needs. Cutliff is known as a perfectionist and will not tolerate the foolish mistakes that have plagued this offense all season.
With some good quality assistants and a major crackdown on discipline this team could get things turned around next year.
I only hope his heart can handle these players.

dang i hope so my heart can barely handle this bunch!!!! But i mean lets think about it i dont believe they will be any more of this 6 different recievers crap!!!!! and i believe he will open up the qb job and see who he likes and build on that!! the best qb will play there isnt no way fulmer will not let that happen with his job on the line!!
I wish we could somehow get mike leach for OC, at least it would be fun to watch on the offensive side of the ball, and all the recruits he would pull in.
Nothing will change because the *** man controls what play is called ultimately. The offense will look the same as it always has unless he gives full reign over the offense to Cut, but I don't see that happening.

I don't give a damn what the playcalling is. The playcalling really hasn't been that bad. What I care about is execution. Under the current offensive staff, our guys can't get open, can't run the right routes, can't catch, can't block (legally) and can't get anything after the catch. Our backs fumble in the red zone. Our line is not nasty enough. As a whole, we have stupid offensive penalties. Obviously Sanders, Washington, Stephens and Co. couldn't coach the players well enough in practice to be able to execute the plays that are called.
Hopefully Cut and his new staff (the rumor is that he will be given free reign to pick his own staff, probably including TD Woods as WR Coach) will run practices more effectively. It sure seems like the QB's and WR's used to perform much better when he was there up through 1998. Remember some of the catches and plays guys like Craig Faulkner, Cory Fleming, and Ronald Davis used to make? Those guys weren't necessarily "star receivers," but they got open, made the catch, and got yardage after the catch.
We also haven't developed a single QB since Cut left. The list is fairly expansive: Joey Matthews, AJ Suggs, Rattay, Leak, Clausen, Ainge.
Compare that against what Cut did with Andy Kelly, Shuler, Manning, and Tee Martin. Both Cut and Randy had highly recruited QB's to begin with. It just seems that Cut made them much better, and that they got better with age. Randy's guys seem to regress, almost.
And you guys have to give up this Mike Leach pipe dream. As long as Fulmer is there our philosophy will never be to throw it all over the place. Personally I don't think that works either. It's a way to make up for a porous defense.
The good teams, and I mean really good teams (think USC, Ohio State, Miami, Va Tech, Texas) are balanced. They can run and pass. That's what we have to get back to, and I think both Phil and Cut share this philosophy.

Ahhh, Faulkner...have'nt thought about him in forever. Now there was sombody who gave his all for the state of Tennessee every saturday. Remember the one handed catches...playing with a broken arm. Thanx Genneyland..needed that refresh after this year of non-effort by our receivers!!!
If Cutcliff can get a handle on the discipline, we will be ok. This has always been a discipline problem and all the other concerns were secondary. The coaches' job is to keep the players focused on the next play in practice. Focused on doing a better job on the next play in practice. Focused on the team.
