This thread has officially earned it . . . .

Again, it's a quiet night. Unless one wanted to subject themselves to the trainwreck that is Columbia v Princeton or the mildly interesting clash between Stanford and Cal, there's nothing on.

Yeah, I know . . . . Although I did just happen to see a good Chris Webber meltdown flashback. He got a rebound in a tie overtime game with 5 seconds to go, and he completely locked up and was unable to make himself call timeout. It was surreal.

If you never call timeout, you don't have to worry about calling one too many.

I did go see "Glory Road" tonight. It's not a historically accurate as I would like, but the deviations were made to make the movie more appealing to a broad audience. Overall, it was well worth the $9.75 it costs for a movie in NYC.

I didn't realize it was still on. Look at that score . . . 125-124!?

What's up with the NBA these days? It's like they remembered how to score all of a sudden. Three players average 30+ppg, and there's been several 120-120 games.

I started this debate on several boards last year.

Am I proud to have PHS @ UT? Yes.

Do I pull for the Lady Vols? Yes.

But is this accomplishment the same as it would be in men's basketball? No, and for a number of reasons. The women's game is just not the same. Like it or not, call me sexist if you wish, but it just isn't.

You could argue that comparisons could be drawn between the women's game over the past 10-15 years versus the men's game in the 50's, 60's, and 70's, but that is unfair on both sides, really.

The bottom line is that just because it is a different game doesn't diminish PHS's accomplishments.

It's not sexist, but a fact.

I agree 100% . . . You can draw the distinction without minimizing how great it is.

I'm glad to see some people are grasping the point I was making.

Comparing mens and womens basketball is definitely apples and oranges...Pat is a great coach though. Nice debating there 96.

The men's and women's games are different and you can't compare them.
With that being said, Pat Summit has won more games than any other D1 coach. Simply stated, she is the winningest D1 basketball coach.
