Multiple times in the past several games, as Ross runs to the side for his Australian Style kick, the defense has already turned around and running away for the return.

Jackson Ross is touted as one of the fastest players on the team.

It seems like an easy read to just run.

If anyone has film examples - or has seen it - please post.

Am I the only one yelling “run!” At the TV?

He had an opening on one yesterday and I thought he was going to take it, he seemed to think about it for a second and then went ahead and kicked it. But man, he would have gotten the first down EASY

Agree, we need to do this a time or two.
The tape is already out there and if you do this it will keep defenses more honest and allow guys like Dee Williams to get down field and cover the punt better.

This was my thought in the moment and then I began questioning if it was legal for him to run for the first down. Like…it was right there for the taking.

Problem would have been a phantom holding call though

I've wondered the same. Bama would have been a great time to run that play.

One would think a former Aussie footballer would be able to run with the ball effectively, as long as he didn’t forget and kick the ball after he crosses the scrimmage line. LOL

Or try and bounce it off the ground after a few yards. Seems I have seen that watching Aussie football. Bet he is one of the toughest players on the team too.
