Unprecedented school-lunch regulations have just gone into effect, and they suggest a new answer to the question “Where’s the beef?”: not on students’ plates— or on their bones. The regulations are a result of Michelle Obama’s “Healthy and Hunger Free Kids Act,” which was passed by the lame-duck, Democrat-controlled Congress in December 2010. And the result has been wasted food, endangered health, and hungrier kids.

When Michelle Obama Starts Starving the Kids

At her kids elite private school they served PIZZA

850 calories for a high school student!? WTF are they thinking.

Giving the “kiddies” a REAL education in socialism...

I wouldn't want to be the one who told Isaiah Stokes he's limited to 850 calories.

Don't see how this differs from making kids eat prepackaged junk food except now kids are throwing fruit in the trash instead of junk down their throats. Maybe these principals should take "personal responsibility" for the out of control candy bar black markets. I'm willing to bet those that need to pack on calories may still be able to find that midnight bowl of ice cream at home. Kids are getting f'n fat. I think the greater good is being accomplished. How hippocritical is it to say that it is more socialist to force on type of food on students than another? Come on.

Why should menus be mandated? Why shouldn't each school be allowed to make what they want? Why do you feel its government's job to tell others what they can and cannot consume?

The kids are told by the school boards that govern them what they can and cannot consume. I think that the school boards should have choice. I don't believe that the First Lady's plan is a perfect one, however, when these school boards go the cheap route of junk food; they are simply passing the costs off on the rest of us. There is no disputing that type II diabetes is an epidemic now. There is no perfect plan, but there has to be a plan.

It is only an epidemic because we as a society believe healthcare is a right. If we were to get rid of that mentality, you would be amazed at how many people would start to lay of the junk food.

I believe the school should offer a wide range of choices and try to minimize any loses to the taxpayers by providing food that students want to consume.

When the hell did Moochele become a certified nutritionist? She needs to take a look in the mirror.

it's what you get from govt schools. Why is anyone surprised they feel one size fits all?

no way in hell I could have lived off that in HS.

Great question..

I just wonder why people think they are coming back if we just vote to remove Obama

Hmmm. I would recommend not voting honestly.

and what would that accomplish? Would it not be tacit approval for the stripping of our rights? Surely there's one candidate that believes in restoring our liberties

What does it matter? For every 1 informed voter there are countless sheep out there.

I'm of the opinion that we watch the whole S#ithouse go up in flames.

Until the American people as a whole decide to shake off this over reaching government, nothing will change.

and how is that accomplished without voting? Maybe you're advocating something else but telling informed voters to sit out an election is a pretty ridiculous plan
